Maxïmo Park say Let’s Get Clinical

i’d like to map your body out inch by inch

Maxïmo Park have always held a conflicted place in my heart, and it’s not just ’cause of their dumb spelling. When I lived in Shanghai they were the only western band that ventured that far East and therefore I loved them as a band. Loved them as people willing to fight for the dissemination of rock music. There was just one problem, I couldn’t particularly get “into” that rock music. I mean, maybe a bit on 2005′s A Certain Trigger but really not at all on 2007′s Our Earthly Pleasures. Then “Let’s Get Clinical” came along and while Paul Smith’s vocals still rub me the wrong way the track has grown on me over the past few weeks. Although it could just be the sentiment within. Who knows with this stuff.

Why does Paul Smith’s voice rub you the wrong way?
He can sing in tune,more than can be said for some so called vocalists now.
Maximo Park are pioneers in today’s rock music.They are innovators and dare to be different.They deserve to be successful for that.

It just does. Why does Orlando Weeks’ voice rub me the right way? Why does your comment seem unnecessarily aggressive? :) How does one explain something like that?

I was a huge fan of A cartain trigger but was really dissapointed with our earthly pleasers.
I haven’t heard their new one yet but it seems like a return to form.

Quicken the Heart is one of the worst album's I've heard.. gave it a few listens but couldn't get into any of the tracks. Such a shame because I like their first 2 albums.
