This is the kind of song that make me miss driving. There is nothing quite like cranking a jangly guitar ripper like this on a shitty stereo system and tearing around town. Harlem hail from Austin, Texas and Hippies is their forthcoming sophomore LP on matador. Their debut, Free Drugs ;-), only came out in January but it’s a ‘pick’ on eMusic and if it’s half as solid as “Friendly Ghost” I am gonna have to get me some of that to tie me over for the next few months. Besides, it has a track called “Psychedelic Tits” which, although a little rawer than “Friendly Ghost”, is still the best song about tits I have heard this week. For clarity’s sake it should be noted that Harlem is two dudes and the album art photo at right is not of them. It’s some old SF band that I am forgetting the name of now but someone will holler in the comments I’m sure. I just cant be bothered ’cause it’s super hard to Google stuff when you are shredding air-guitar as hard as I am right now.
