There is some sort of weird disconnect that goes on with the UK and US where huge bands in one don’t always translate to the other and somebody misses out on awesome music. Until a few weeks ago my knowledge of Kasabian was that made that semi-danceable hit “Club Foot” a few years back and it may or may not have been in an iPod ad. What I did not know is that they put out an album this June that was produced by Dan The Automator (Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Head Automatica, etc.) and besides riding the UK album charts like a bad ‘yo mamma’ joke, the album was nominated for a Mercury Prize and named Q Magazine’s best album of 2009. Yeah, pretty epic shit happening right under my nose. Nobody wanted to throw me a heads up? Anyway, my act got itself together and I have been all up in West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (Named after the first nut-house for the poor in England. Awesome.) and I can see what all the fuss was about. This album miles better than that “Club Foot” business and has some interesting (if not smirk-worthy) ideas behind it. I may just have to get their other 2 albums as well and see what these fellas are workin’ with.

I am from Germany and Kasabian is really big here.
But nice to see, that these guys finally managed to get attention in the US, so you can enjoy their wonderful music.
In my opinion their previous album “Empire” is better than this,maybe you will also listen to it.

Kasabian's super huge. beyond club foot.
and , I sort of agree with you about this last album, I like this way better than Empire.
But that's completely personal, as I know Empire is equally awesome. Having opinions on Kasabian's album is just like having opinions on several different bands. you just can't compare it.
