These guys make me smile. Not only is that album cover great but this song is so catchy and upbeat that I think it might even turn some of you frowners off. To you I will quote Light FM’s album title and say Let There Be Light FM. The themes of “Friends Aren’t Friends” are quite adult and jaded and for my money it’s nice to see them wrapped in such sunshine pop. I’m a bit too post-Xmas-spaced to put my finger on it but this jam reminds me a lot of some of my favorite 90s radio vibes. The L.A.-via-Chicago quintet are new to my ears but have been releasing music since 2004. They are gaining traction in the L.A. scene, garnering rave reviews, and playing more and more shows. Let Their Be Light FM is out now.
