THE SHAPE OF THE EARTH is more than AN AUDIO SCRIBBLE

The Shape Of The Earth – An Audio Scribble (Rock Star Wannabe)

When Gavin Bascom sings about being a “typical rock-star wannabe” I can only roll my eyes so far before the music redirects my attention and I am too busy rocking along to worry about what degree of irony we are working with here. Gavin’s music with The Shape Of The Earth is the kind of straightforward rock whose heyday has passed thanks to hordes of painful hacks but it will always be refreshing to hear it done right. But don’t take my word for it, let “Separate Lives” (below) introduce to you another side of the The Shape Of The Earth. If “An Audio Scribble” is music for the inner smart-ass, then “Separate Lives” is music for the heart. I’ve only got three songs that Gavin sent me off of Do I Dare Disturb The Universe? but so far I’m on board. We’ve got honesty, hooks, range, and luckily, a repeat button.

Good work man, very impressive. Now the pressure is on me to keep you coming back even when the posts only come 1 or 2 a day! :)

    B,

I am on board with this one, “honesty, hooks, range, and luckily, a repeat button” no doubt.

awesome! I have a feeling that these guys aren't getting nearly the props they deserve.
