MUMFORD & SONS have enough great tracks to fill a WHITE BLANK PAGE

where was my fault in loving you with my whole heart

♫ Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page

It was “Roll Away Your Stone” (below) that caught my attention a year ago but I just never posted about it (as sometimes happens) and London’s Mumford & Sons slipped under the radar. Seeing their 2009 debut LP Sigh No More pop up on numerous year end lists gave me sufficient reason to delve deeper. That’s when I heard “White Blank Page.” Two very different songs. One very talented band. Zero actual family members. Marcus Mumford and three other guys who are definitely not his children craft folksy rock music that is both tender and roaring, intimate and stadium worthy. Sigh No More if an excellent collection of tracks that has me falling further for it with each listen. This music runs deep and it’s perfect for those moments when I want a break from the more overt pop that I often gravitate towards. The band is giving away a track called “Sister” here so grab that and then get the album. Trust.

it's like the love child of m. ward and my friend's band hey marseilles (i gave you a track or two), conceived with the assistance of some extra drums and a banjo. your analogy thing is rubbing off on me – that means i like it.
