♫ Miike Snow – Billie Holiday (LightsoverLA remix) / Yes! Yes! Yes! It had been waay too long since we had a Miike Snow remix and now we get one for the great bonus track “Billie Holiday!” It’s like going to a rave in the cockpit of a spaceship going warp speed!

♫ Crystal Castles – Vietnam (Lightsoverla remix) / Woah LightsoverLA, slow down with the banging remixes! I kinda can’t handle too many epic tracks at once. This one is like going to a rave in a burning haunted house. That flaming zombie is windmilling!

♫ Crystal Castles – Celestica (Clockwork Remix) / “Celestica” get’s pulled down from the clouds a bit as it gets pummeled with all sorts of heavy synths and grinding bass. It’s gonna be hard not to pump a fist if this comes on in the club.

♫ Gorillaz – Superfast Jellyfish (Don Diablo Remix) / Don Diablo is baaaack! And not a moment too soon! This is just the remix I needed to put something by Gorillaz into rotation around here. This is what the album should have sounded like!

♫ The Chemical Brothers – Swoon (Don Diablo Remix) / Don Diablo is still heeeere! And thank goodness! Lights off and volume up, this is something I can get down to. This shit takes off around the 3 minute mark so wear a headband to hold back that sweat!

♫ Local Natives – Wide Eyes (Suckers Remix) / Aside from removing the verses, Suckers have done the right thing by not messing with the original too much. A little crunch and texture here and there but otherwise just another piece of beauty from Local Natives that still has the great ‘Ahhh AAAAhhhhh’s.

♫ Ra Ra Riot – Each Year (Absofacto Remix) / Oh Ra Ra Riot, where are you? What are you doing? When am I going to have more of your great music? I just miss you, that’s all.

♫ Phantogram – Mouthful of Diamonds (Alan Wilkis Remix) / Alan nails it on this one, grabbing the original and running with it straight to funky town. Pan flutes are mixed with gurgling bloops and there is even a hip hop sample or two. This the jam that I want to play while setting up for a party.

♫ Wolf Gang – Back to Back (The Soundmen Remix w/ P.SO) / The Soundmen bring on rapper P.SO on their rework of the latest Wolf Gang jam and it’s working for me! A great jam to play while cleaning up that party.

♫ Goldfrapp – Rocket (Penguin Prison Remix) / The easily forgettable original gets a little more meat on it’s bones courtesy of up-and-comer Penguin Prison. The whole thing is a bit darker and perfect for a night drive to an illicit rendezvous.

♫ Matt Van Schie – Journey (Memory Tapes Version) / One of the guys from Van She has a solo album coming out and Memory Tapes has done is magic on the single. Dark, ominous, eerie, and perfect for your next sunset pool party!

MASHUPS

♫ A-Trak – Trizzy Turnt Up / DJ extraordinaire A-Trak has a new mixtape of mashup magic out. This opening banger has been rocking me for a bit now and it should be rocking you too. I’m halfway through the mixtape now and it’s hot as hell. I love this style of 2 or three tracks at a time mashup so much better then the overly-ADD Girl talk. Get on this. It’s FREE!

♫ Dave Wrangler – Party With Children on My Block (Scarface x RATATAT) / Since Ratatat gave up remixing hip-hop we can thank  Dave Wrangler for taking over their steez on this great mashup. It just works. Bang it.

♫ Jay-Z – 99 Problems (Ballard Remix) feat. The Dap Kings / Sometimes the simplest remix is the most effective. Here we’ve got Jay’s vocals over the music of The Dap Kings and I can’t think of anything that could make this better. Kick back with a frosty beverage and soak it all in, instruments, lyrics, and all. Fantastic.

♫ The Hood Internet – (This Shit Was) All I Know [Drake x Free Energy] / The Hood Internet are on point. It’s what they do.

♫ The White Panda – Drake & Diane / I’ve never heard of The White Panda before but Audio Muffin tipped me off to this Drake x John Mellencamp mashup and I’m on board so far. Let’s bridge that generation gap!
