[REMIX] Cruiser – “Don’t Go Alone (Noah Hyde Remix)” + Noah Hyde roundup

i want you, i want you, i want you

♫ Cruiser -Don’t Go Alone (Noah Hyde Remix)

So picture this, I get my hands on a remix of the recently posted (and under-appreciated) Cruiser by some guy Noah Hyde. I scope Noah’s Soundcloud and discover a treasure trove of epic remixes by all-time TBE faves like Cherub, Purity Ring, Two Door Cinema Club, and Youth Lagoon. It’s like the guy has his finger on my pulse!

The 25 Best MUSIC VIDEOS of 2011

Every once in a while I meet someone who casually mentions that music videos are dead and I’m always shocked. Music videos have never been more alive and vibrant than they are now in the age of video democracy online. This post is a celebration of the creative spirit that fights every day to set great songs to even better visuals. You guys are my heroes.

Watch the videos in a countdown stye playlist below or continue on to catch them embedded 1-by-1 with my woefully minimal commentary.

Youth Lagoon - The Year Of Hibernation

[QUICKIE] Youth Lagoon – YOUTH LAGOON (w/ “Cannons”)

♫ Youth Lagoon – Cannons

Because Mondays are perfect for delicate tender emotive music that I completely slept on until recently. Painfully beautiful and timeless.

[Quickies are mini-reviews that can fit into a 140 character tweet. They are of albums that people already know of but perhaps are curious about our take on it. What did you think of the disc?]

Youth Lagoon - july + cannons

[MP3/VIDEO] Youth Lagoon – “July”

its just my lady, my friends, and i, smoking cigars and yelling at cars as they drive by

♫ Youth Lagoon – July

  • Who: Trevor Powers
  • What: Tender, emotional, cinematic. Like Arrange, Safe
  • Where: Boise, ID + Facebook / SoundcloudAmazon
  • When: Debut LP The Year Of Hibernation is out now and made a lot of “best of” lists.
  • Why: Youth Lagoon already delivered one of the most moving (and best) music videos of last year with “Montana.” The music plays into the video so well that the song never caught on with me. Now director Tyler T Williams has returned for an equally stunning, if a bit eerier, video for “July.” This time I caught the song’s vibe and am now convinced I have been missing out on some Youth Lagoon. Grab one more great free track at the Bandcamp.
