Brandon’s TBE Digest 16 – 11.23.2010 [Theophilius London, Passion Pit, Girl Talk, Tegan & Sara, …]
I’m trying something new with this weeks Digest! Peep the tidy Soundcloud player above for individual tracks and comments from me (beginning of each track). Zip file is still downloadable below!
Please let me know what you think of this tighter, sleeker, TBE Digest experience! A massive pain in the ass or a step in a good direction? (It’s certainly a hell of a lot easier to put together…)
Remember, for more jams or by any of these artists use the ‘tags’ links at the bottom of the post!
It’s definitely a step in a good direction. After all, this is the “music blog for people who don’t have time for music blogs”. Definitely aids in quickly assessing the digest and picking out the highlights.
Speaking of highlights – the Flying Overseas track was definitely one for me; it takes a certain rate something for me to get into a laid-back track, but this track definitely had it.
a1 son! I was wondering when you were gonna jump on the soundcloud party boat! although I do kinda miss the breakdown of each track on the page for easy and entertaining viewing….
Sorry, but gotta say that I don’t like the new way. With individual track listings I can download the tracks I want individually and my media player, Songbird, can scrape the tracks from site and makes a nice premade playlist for me. Sorry if it’s more work, but I really prefer the individual track listings.
My 2 cents,
Jordan
Yeah, seeing all Digest tracks in one place is nice. Not so spread out.
Flying Overseas hasn’t grabbed me yet but I have a feeling that I will like it more in the context of the album (whenever it comes out!)
-Thanks for your feedback Caleb!
I’m still not sold on Soundcloud. For me to keep up with this Digest format would cost quite a bit of money on an upgraded account. (only 120 minutes can be stored on free account). And yeah, it takes more effort to read about the tracks now. I dunno, we will see how I feel come time for the next roundup. Thanks Danny!
I know how you love your Songbird and honestly, this may have been only a one-time test. But I gotta say, downloading a zip file is still a pretty darn easy way to make a quick playlist. And you can still download individual tracks with this soundcloud player. Truth is that cost will probably keep me from using Soundcloud more.
Dude, your crazy. The Wombats have me wanted to jump into random clouds of fog with that track. Great list.
But one of the reason why I love this site so much’s cause it uses Soundcloud! Wayyy to go for good quality and easy streaming!! :(
Really not keen on Beady Eye.
I’ll second that.
