[MP3] AESTETIK wants to take you on an INTENSE date and then get down to BUSINESS

when you come over, you wont want it to be over

♫ Aestetik – Intense Business (Radio Version)

Sometimes a night out calls for some huge house music to let that strobe light earn it’s keep. Cranking the volume on this jam and I can almost taste the fog machine mist on my tongue. Aestetik is brand new on the scene but clearly knows a thing or two about sexiness. At least he is honest and upfront about what to expect back at Chez Aestetik!

“It’s Friday night and we feel all right, the party is here on The Burning Ear!”

We, Joel & Scott, present you Dubstep Roundup Volume 3.

We rounded up an ever so bassy list of remixes and originals to deal you your dubstep fix this week.  First, we’ll be clear, we know a lot of what lies below isn’t the shiny new toy, we just wanted to share some of our favorites, while addressing the debate about original dubstep vs. dubstep remixes.  While we lean heavily towards remixes these originals might make you hesitate.

So grab your partner, dosey doe and keep shakin’ that ass like you want some more!

[MP3] GENERATIONALS are the best. TRUST.

if you can’t see it i can tell you you’re living in a way out world and you’re making it up as you go along

♫ Generationals – Trust

The Generationals are one of the best bands I have ever had the privilege of covering on TBE and now they have a new EP coming out. That makes me excited in a variety of ways. Follow the links above to get acquainted with their stunning-for-the-whole-family debut cause I gotta dive into “Trust” right now. The title track to the new EP is an introduction to the duo’s new addition, drummer Tess Brunet. So far so good! That big bouncing drum, dancing guitar line, and tambourine sparkle showcase a band working is beautifully perfect harmony. I recommend this jam and instant cure for the early-sunset blues that is besetting us all. Just close your eyes and drift away to somewhere special. Still no word on when the Trust EP will be out but I’m hoping to get a copy soon! And then it wont be too long before their sophomore LP Actor-Caster is out! Winter won’t be so bad after all!

[MP3] MATT & KIM find it hard to use CAMERAS when they are rocking so hard

i decided to start writing less and i’m talking more everyday

♫ Matt and Kim – Cameras

Matt & Kim are back! While I’ve never fallen in love with any of their albums, I have always been a huge fan simply because they are the most fun band to watch perform. Ever. If you have never seen the video for their debut’s highlight “Yea Yeah” then fix that now. While you are at it, make sure you watch their video for last years “Lessons Learned.” Brilliant. Ok, back to the music. Matt & Kim have always been so scrappy and ragged that it’s a (pleasant) surprise that they were so embraced by the mainstream. Their recent notoriety would make it prime time to drop an overproduced mess of songs on forthcoming LP Sidewalks but I trust the Brooklyn duo to keep it real. The albums first single, “Cameras,” shows off a happy medium of their signature ragged drums n’ keyboards combo as well as some nice horns and some other weird effects. It’s the most “full” Matt & Kim song ever but still sticks to their sound. I’m officially stoked on Sidewalks (out Nov. 2) and looking forward to some down and dirty house parties with this blasting on the boombox!

[MP3] Villa Nah & Helsinki 78-82

If you follow TBE, you know that I love getting Nurdy” to remixes, but I also like me some chill tunes.  Enter Villa Nah, the laid-back electro-poppers from Helsinki, Finland.

This Duo may hail from Finland, but they remind me of a chilled-out, darker version of Australia’s Cut Copy.

So here, take a time machine back to the days of Depeche Mode and check these three jams.

P.S. Check their Myspace and listen to Bennys Burning.

[MP3] MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE’s new jam will kick you in the NA NA NA nads!

you run the company, fuck like a kennedy, i think we’d rather be, burning your information

♫ My Chemical Romance – Na Na Na

Lets get 3 three things clear: 1) That’s the best single cover of the year. 2) I love MyChemical Romance. Always have. 3) You certainly don’t have to like them by any means but if the fact  that I do cheapens your opinion of this blog then you can fuck off. Seriously, I don’t want your narrow-minded, high-and-mighty bullshit around here.* OK! Moving on to this ripping new jam that is unfortunately too late for summer because I would have loved to strap some lap-dog to my head and do my best impression of that cover while letting “Na Na Na” shred some poor jalopy’s sound system! It’s great to see the guys loosening up on the depressing black shtick and really going for the good times full steam. 4 years off seems to have done the band well after the slight misstep of The Black Parade. Gone is are scowls and black, replaced by a band that is clearly less concerned with fulfilling someone’s expectations of them and is instead celebrating good times and fun music. Criticize “emo” all you want for wearing it’s heart on it’s sleeve but you can’t criticize this song for wearing it’s fun on it’s sleeve by going with the most appropriate title possible! Anyway, you get the picture. I love these guys and dig this song and am psyched to hear what else they have cooked up for us on the forthcoming Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. I’d give you guys a primer on my favorite MCR jams off their first 3 albums (like I usually do) but the truth is that most of you have already made up your minds on MCR and will never be able to love them like I do and there isn’t anything I can do about it. Bummer. No point in telling you the story of seeing them open for The Used and Thrice in Poughkeepsie back in ’03 when they were small enough that Gerard could have drinks at the bar and nobody came up to him but my buddy Ted and I. The dude was as chill as ever and went on to rock the night into one of the top spots on my best concerts of all time list. Oops, better stop there before I get into the story about…

*if this post makes me sound like some bitter aging music fanboy asshole then, well, then I guess I am. (Sometimes.)
