I dare you to tell me that the voice you hear in this song evokes the same face you see in this photo. But that’s exactly it! The track has merit, sure, but there is a gloss to it that I tend to slide off of. “Starry Eyed” has ben bouncing around my iTunes for months but was never posted because I never felt certain that Ellie was worth the notice. Then I heard her cover of Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold” and knew there was something here. With a little research I think I might even like her new single “Under The Sheets” even more than “Starry Eyed.” It has a bit more gravitas. But whatever you think of her solo stuff, she is clearly working on some real shit here. Besides “Black 7 Gold” she has recorded an amazing cover of Bon Iver’s “The Wolves (Act I and II)” as well as Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead.” Get over your post-Sleepyhead self and check them bot out at PMA because they are serious business. Her fantastic producer Starsmith is due credit as well. I’m hoping for big things from Ellie because i’ve definitely got my eye on this one.

ellie goulding is gahdamn incredible. this cover is awesome
I'm really curious to hear her album. I saw NME only gave it a 6 so I'm a little nervous…
You should check out her her cover of “Sleepyhead”. Not as impressive as either of these but it carries nicely once you get into it.
I've got it kicking around the iTunes somewhere. Definitely nice.
