Bobby Uzóma – “Alone” // David Oliveira

With the disclaimer that I am always going to be onboard with weird sound effect loops and hi-hat rhythms behind talented R&B vocalists, Bobby Uzóma’s latest offering really does it for me. Tasteful, minimal, and heartfelt, “Alone” feels like a heart-wrenching transmission from the other side of the world – something you might hear while half-asleep, unsure whether you’re receiving some invisible emotional broadcast or dreaming up the whole thing.

Tune into more of Bobby Uzóma’s frequencies by revisiting the gorgeous “Holy Grails” from VINYL MOON Volume 010: Dry.

Dabin – “Hazy” // Onur

This is strutting music. Friday payday music. “We don’t care what they think about us” music. Bust out the buzzed-uncle-at-a-wedding dance moves and get down with Dabin.

moon:and:6 – “Apollo-Soyuz” // Piotr Krysiak

It’s pretty common knowledge that space is the place so when a band like moon:and:6 comes along and craft all their jams around the final frontier they have my attention. And when those songs are as beautiful and delicate as “Apollo-Soyuz” they sure keep my attention. Drift away in zero Gs with this one.

Tep No – “Is It Too Much That Im Asking For” // Kelsey Beckett

Tep No continues his domination of the sad/sexy jam genre with a fantastic new one that is perfect for winter wooing. Make sure you are up to speed on all his jams, especially “The Last Ones Standing” which was featured on the highly sought after VINYL MOON Volume 002.

Torandaga – “After Life” // Antoine Bruy

Let Torandaga’s guitar jam “After Life” stand guard over your weekend. You’ll want to avoid actually heading to the afterlife so you can enjoy it on repeat a few more times.

On Planets – “Cure” // Merve Morkoç

We live a life so strange it makes the head split. Luckily there is music so good it puts things (a bit) back together again. Much love for On Planets and his perpetual quest to soothe what ails us.

“Cure is kind of about a lot of things, but mainly about feeling conflicted and polarized/caught in between opposing sides. The song is about trying to find the convoluted and limp middle ground when each polar extreme is so straightforward and simple.”

– On Planets

“Cure” is the debut track from the forthcoming Personal Space EP on Majestic Casual Records. Give a heart on Hype Machine and then download. Plus check out his jam “Spectacle” on VINYL MOON Volume 004.

Gleneagle – “I Need Something Now” // Sophie Green

Leave up to our friends in Canada to tap into the essential Winter activity of rocking the F out to stay warm. I’ve been loving this Gleneagle jam for months now but cranking it today and thrashing for warmth brings a whole new appreciation for these ripping riffs and singalong grooves.
