In the middle of planning my next Lights & Music event, I decided to dust out the old Itunes when I found this dubstep roundup that was meant to go up a few weeks ago.  Sorry about that guys.  I’m still trying to find a balance between all of the projects I’ve taken on in the last year.  This roundup reflects the much more melodic side of dubstep; which frankly is what I prefer.  So, in an attempt to just get this bad boy up on the web waves, I’ll skip the wordiness and just press publish.  Have no fear though, the bass is still there, so turn your speakers up and get down with yourself.
P.S.- I’ll have another Dubstep Roundup up in the next couple days. Â Until then…

Welcome to the end of the year. A time for reflection, for resolutions, for binge drinking, and for me telling you what was good in the TBE hood! Kicking things off are my 15 favorite covers spanning all genres and damn near all instruments. Guys! Girls! Guys singing girls’ songs! Girls singing guys’ songs! It’s mayhem! Brandon’s TBE Digest is a place where I gather up all the recent jams that are worth a listen (or 10) but don’t necessarily need their own post. Here you will find new tracks by known bands, remixes, covers, and even mashups if they are interesting. My favorites of the lot are in bold.
A big batch of goodies this time round. Plus, since it’s a nice round number Jacob Youngblood Ziegler hooked us up with a fancy Anniversary Edition of the TBE Digest art. Stare at it in awe as you listen.

NEW RELEVENT JAMS
♫ Phantogram – Don’t Move / Phantogram return with the Nightlife EP and this is a great sign of the continued sexiness these two are working with.
♫ Vacationer – Gone While not nearly as good as previous track “Trip” this shows good promise of more magic to come from this Body Language collaborator.

It’s a big one folks. Proceed with caution (and good speakers). Also note the new Digest logo that will be here to stay. Enough of that little weird cartoon guy we had for so long, amiright!? Cheers to new beginnings! And new jams!

NEW RELEVENT JAMS
♫ Toro y Moi – All Alone / Toro y Moi continue their Digest domination with this great jam off their new EP Freaking Out.
Welcome back TBE vets and greetings, bonjour, buenas noches, shalom, what’s happening TBE infants. First, we’re grateful for everyone of you. Second, we have a slight change in the Remix Roundup methodology I wanted to let you know about.
Previously, we had been working from a Friday bi-weekly format that many of you have come very a accustomed to. But, as awesome as those Friday roundups were, keeping to that schedule sometimes proved to be quite difficult. Not to mention resulting in many Roundups being far too large.  I decided to clean things up.
The New Philosophy is simple… I will post a new R-R everytime I have 15 new TBE worthy remixes. There is no set schedule. Does this mean I will post less often??? No, actually its quite the contrary. If you want to stay up to date on all remix roundups, then follow me on twitter @JoelAlbers
Anyway, enough with the serious talk… Remix Roundup Vol. 51 is about to blow your head off. PUSSSHH PLAY.

♫ Dada Life – Fight Club Is Closed (Religion Remix) / This one puts a huge mischievous grin on my face. This is what I call a 4-On-The-Floor BANGER. This may just coast its way into that all important Top 50 remixes of 2011 list.

♫ Boots Electric – Boots Electric Theme / The first single from Eagles Of Death Metal’s frontman Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes. Hmm… I wanna love it but it’s just no EODM track.
♫ Wale – Lacefrontin’ / Remember when this guy was supposed to be the big thing? Just not feeling it. So much going on here but kinda nothing going on.
Below we have the perfect play-list to soundtrack  the ever so present Mother’s Day weekend!
