[MP3] Clubfeet – “Acapulco & LA”

Clubfeet - Acapulco & LA

Hey I like Clubfeet! Hey I went to Acapulco once with my dad! Hey I’m from L.A! Hey I like Fridays! Hey I like  tropical Australian dance tunes with soothing vocals that makes my muscles relax and my worries fade away!

[VIDEO] Music Video Roundup – 02.23.13 [Humans, Black Light Dinner Party, Clubfeet, Dems, Local Natives]

Music-Video-RoundupI said I would and now I am! More music video madness for y’all to dive your eyes & ears into. As I think we all do, I watch a lot of boring, stale, and unimaginative music videos these days. Yet I am continually refreshed by the sheer number of quality videos that are also being produced. From simple low budget stomach turners like Humans’ latest to years-in0the-making animated mind benders like Black Light Dinner Party’s new one. Dems go rough with their special effects and Clubfeet go seamless and both kept me engaged for every second. And Local Natives went all beautifully oddball on us. The only unifying aspect of these videos is there are no performance shots. No band members playing any instruments. Who needs that!?

[MP3] Clubfeet – “Last Words”

she said the last words in the world, we are not alone

♫ Clubfeet – Last Words

After giving RAC Maury some much deserved love a few weeks back I was inspired to track down the original of that Clubfeet remix and came up with a jam that holds it own damn well. “Last Words” has that kind of late night synth swing that is perfect for that post-party comedown. Still enough groove to keep you moving but not so crazy that you can’t get your contemplating on. I guess it coud also be some good nekkid-time music but I wouldn’t pretend to know about that…

[RMX] RAC Maury remixes Death Cab For Cutie, The Static Jacks, and Clubfeet

some boys are filling the hole

RAC enthusiasts should know that an RAC Mix means collective leader Andre Anjos did the magic, while an RAC Maury Mix means that production whiz and Ra Ra Riot sound guy Andre Maury carved the audio gold. Anjos definitely does most of the heavy lifting at RAC HQ and, since many may not know there is anyone else involved, gets most of the praise. Well, today it’s time to take a moment and appreciate the under-sung hero of everyone’s favorite remix collective. Andrew Maury, will you please stand up.

Ok, fine, don’t stand. But can you provide us with three recent remixes for us to massage our weary ears with? OK, cool. Thanks.

Death Cab for Cutie – Some Boys [RAC Maury Mix] by Death Cab for Cutie

Let’s not dwell on the news that Ben & Zooey are no more, the man made “Some Boys” while married to that indie-babe and RAC Maury dropped his signature crunchy bass licks right into its funk center, giving the notoriously morose band a much needed pep infusion. Crank it up, Benny boy! It gets better.

♫ The Static Jacks – Into The Sun (RAC Maury Mix)

Besides remixing, Maury gets his production on with bands like Ra Ra Riot, Kisses, and New Jersey’s The Static Jacks. This jam showcases exactly the kind of kinetic energy that Maury conjures with his jams. Hard not to find yourself moving along.

♫ Clubfeet – Last Words (RAC Maury Mix)

I have no idea who Clubfeet are but nothing like an RAC-family mix to put them on my radar.

They are now here to stay and solve any issue TBE may ever encounter.  For now, in this thing we call “the mean time”, enjoy our latest edition of our Remix Roundups.  Annnnd, by the wayss, we are experimenting with some new graphics from our local Austin friend Danielle Villarreal.
