Music-Video-Roundup

The website is still giving me (and thus the world!) some troubles. Turns out it may be related to traffic from dumb sites like Beemp3. I didn’t think anyone actually cared about mp3s anymore… Anyway, so while I keep tinkering under the hood you guys kick back with some great music videos that have come through the pipeline! [REMIX] Electric Guest – “The Bait” (Michael Creange & WEKEED remix)

the luckiest kids wearing the crown don’t have a clue

Yes please! “The Bait” is one of the best songs on Electric Guest’s hit-or-miss debut Mondo and its great hearing it’s funk levels kicked up. And then things go a bit crazy. In a good way. Hang on.

[QUICKIE] Electric Guest – MONDO

MONDO hits home. But misses equally. Besides old faves, “The Bait” & “Waves” are best. Most others feel uninspired. See them live instead.

[Quickies are mini-reviews that can fit into a 140 character tweet. They are of albums that people already know of but perhaps are curious about our take on it. What did you think of the disc?]

[REMIX] Electric Guest – American Daydream (Herr Vogel Remix)

we keep going, dont stop running, they keep selling, we dont want it

♫ Electric Guest – American Daydream (Herr Vogel Remix)

How awesome is life!? The original jam keeps growing on me. I am going to see Electric Guest live at their February residency at The Echo here in LA. AND I have this sweet little remix get loose to on the weekends. I mean fair enough, you could bust this out midweek but keep it after business hours because I can promise you it will easily over-sex your workplace.

[MP3/VIDEO] Electric Guest – “American Daydream”

after it all it’s still repairable, i know that i forgot my history

♫ Electric Guest – American Daydream

  • Who: Asa Taccone & Matthew Compton
  • What: Ghost-pop, like Motopony, Dead Man’s Bones, Broken Bells
  • Where: Los Angeles + Facebook / Soundcloud / Bandcamp / Amazon
  • When: Debut LP Mondo is out 3/24.
  • Why: Having Loney Island’s Jorma Taccone as your brother and Danger Mouse as your album producer are both great things but neither are worth a damn if you cant write haunting funk fog like “American Daydream” and then set it to a delightfully off-kilter video like this. Although I bet if I listened to this song in a dark room on repeat for a day I could end up like that guy. At least the voice in my head would be smooth as butter.
  • Wrap the fuzzy twist of their newest track “This Head I Hold” around your ears as you wait for their probably-going-to-be-awesome LP Mono.
