Remix Roundup Vol. 67 – 6.26.2012 [Matt & Kim, Feist, St. Lucia, J.Cole, and more…]

And just like that.  I’m back with more remix madness for your Burning Ears. Remix Roundups are a collection of the freshest remixes on the planet.  You can search high and low in this world or another, but you won’t find a remix series this dope in this galaxy or the next –  For we are from only space.

For more jams or by any of these artists use the ‘tags’ links at the bottom of the post!  Follow @JoelAlbers on Twitter for updates on remixes, dubstep and all things Nurdy.

Passion Pit – Take A Walk (The M Machine Remix)  / First we had the glorious Pecking Duk remix and now this and its not even Christmas.  The M Machine, hailing from the Bay Area have created a straight up slappin mix here.

La Roux – I’m Not Your Toy (Data Remix)  / Not a new tune by any means, but what a chune it is… How this song somehow slipped through the Lights & Music cracks blows my mind.  Without further ado, enjoy.

TBE Exclusive! /// DJ Bouji and the ‘Just Quit’ Mix

djbouji_logodo you enjoy what you do? if not, don’t stop, don’t say shit

♫ Trackademicks vs. Sammy Bananas – Enjoy What You Do (Bouji Mash N Slash)

Just when you thought you weren’t going to be getting an exclusive mixtape to jam to all weekend, BAM, here it is! Surprises are fun as hell, but not nearly as fun as this buttery smooth funk-fest that L.A.’s own DJ Bouji has served up for us. I have seen this guy spin a few times and he always lights it up with his flow. His Just Quit mix is no different as he mixes genres, decades, and styles into one big party anthem. If you have been listening to his Mash N Slash of Sammy Bananas remix of Trackademicks “Enjoy What You Do” then you know what’s up. If you check out the tracklist after the jump you’ll see Miike Snow rolled into Peter Gabriel and Kings Of Leon paving the way for The Outfield. I love it. Download the whole thing below and have a kick ass weekend.

Remix Roundup /// Vol. 4

Here at TBE I like to focus on new artists we are about to love and new tracks by artists we already love. BUT! Sometimes a remix comes along that just hast to be shared (danced to), and even more often a dozen remixes come along, hence the Remix Roundup. This week has some fantastic remixers (Designer Drugs, Don Diablo, Bloodshy & Avant, etc) remixing some TBE faves (La Roux, Basement Jaxx, Frankmusik, etc.). Crank the volume, clear the dance floor and download away!

Van She – Strangers

Van She’s “Strangers” has been rocking my ass for quite a while now but only recently did I get my lazy ass over to eMusic and pick up V, the LP it comes from. The bass-line and xylophone combo on “Stangers” is enough to get anyone interested in what these Aussies have to offer. While the full album is maybe not as solid as the artwork (is that a full 90 degrees? Impressive.), this next track has sunk it little aussie teeth in.

Van She – It Could Be The Same

“It Could Be The Same” starts slow and spazzy but quickly smoothes itself into a propulsive head-bobber with that familiar bass from “Strangers.” Add a dollop of rhythmic but laid-back vocals and I’m on board.

For those of you hankering for your Monday installment of CvrUpYrRmx I ‘aint forgots aboutcha. Due to the time-devouring monster that is layout renovations you will have to settle for just the “Rmx” part.

Feist – 1234 (Van She Tech remix)

Van She Tech are the remixing arm of Van She and while it in unclear exactly how the two are connected I’m not gonna stress over it. They have remixed Ladyhawke and Empire Of The Sun as well and it’s all good. This one is harder to find these days so if you dig go searching for the others.
