KIT sound like a bunch of sexy ANIMALS

♫ KIT – Animals

Remember when you got yearbooks in middle/high-school and everyone would sign it with some bullshit comment about blah blah and then sign off with “K.I.T.!” Yeah, well the Paris based band of the same name is way more fun than that. “Animals” is the perfect cocktail of sultry Parisian vocals and bouncing electro fun. It’s kind of luck foreplay on a ferris wheel, only with more lazer effects. If you aren’t turned on during the first go-round then hold on until 3:25 when the synth solo comes in and just murders it. Damn, the more I’m listening to this song the better it gets. Seriously, headphone this one and crank it up! No album yet, but a few more jams at their MySpace. Tough to beat “Animals,” though.(Thanks to The Recommender for the tip!)

Naïve New Beaters need to Get more Love

let’s see what you’ve got apart from what you say

♫ Naïve New Beaters – Get Love

Lately, this thing keeps happening to me where I am sure that a new song I dig is the only good one by the band. Then I go to write about it and discover they have a solid catalog of jams. Damn. There are definitely worse ways to be wrong! Well, it was Dinosaur Pile-Up the other day and now it’s France’s Naïve New Beaters. The Recommender turned me on a few weeks back and “Get Love” has been simmering in my stereo since then. A love anthem for the love-challenged sung in an awesome French accent, It’s big, loud, and full of goofy fun. Straight up my alley. If you like what you hear then definitely head over to RCRD•LBL for 2 more tracks off of their debut LP Wallace (out now). “Can’t Choose” may be the catchiest song I’ve heard all week and “Live Good” has the best video I have seen in a while.

Phoenix are giving me Lisztomania

Phoenix – Lisztomania

I, along with the rest of the blogosphere, have been sitting on the new Phoenix album for a while now but considering it’s release date isn’t until May 25th I figured it prudent to wait until May to drop my thoughts on it. Well May is here kids, and I couldn’t be more excited to hype this album! I have been a long time fan of certain phoenix songs (“If I Ever Feel Better,” “Long Distance Call”) but I never really got into any of their albums as a whole. That all changed when I got my paws on Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. When the single “1901” hit the web back in February (get my favorite remix here) I had a feeling this album would be a real step up for the French quartet and boy was I right. You can tell by glancing at my Last.fm stats that I haven’t been able to stop listening to this album. Clocking in at 9 tracks (10 if you count the 8 minute ambient filler of “Love Like a Sunset” being split into 2 parts. I don’t.) and 37 minutes it is short, but oh so sweet. The aforementioned “Love Like a Sunset” aside every track here is solid gold. Short, infectious, and tightly wound, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is like Phoenix’s version of Danny DeVito on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia: I never really had much faith in their early work but with this I’m sold. And so should you be. May 25th, people. This one’s worth your cash.

Nôze wants you to Remember Love

noze

everybody want to have a hot flip side

Noze – Remember Love

Despite their somber expressions these two look like the funnest dudes on the planet. Who wouldn’t want them at your party, right? Well it’s the weekend and time to get funky so let these two French dudes funk you up with this jam. The lyrics are a recommended read-along as his accent can get kinda thick and it’s worth catching what he says.
