As big Grizfolk fans since the first days we have heard (and loved) “The Struggle” through a variety of incarnations. It can be a dangerous game when a song that beloved gets remixed but lucky for us the band chose wisely with TBE favorite RAC and the result is something special indeed. RAC is at his finest when flipping a song on his head, and adding a whole new vibe to the mix and it is done so perfectly here.
Evolution is a beautiful thing. One of my favorite songs of 2012 (“The Struggle”) turned into one of my favorite bands of 2013 and now Grizfolk are poised to be one of the biggest breakouts of 2014. “The Struggle” is out on iTunes and the video they dropped today is not so much a music video as a road video, featuring the extensive of touring they did last year year. Check below for the string of shows they have coming up, including a headlining gig right here in LA at my favorite Troubadour.
If all that wasn’t enough, Grizfolk just announced the pre-order of their debut EP on Virgin Records. From The Spark includes TBE faves “The Struggle”, “Hymnals”, “Vagabonds”, and new jam “Waiting For You”.

TBE faves and future rockers of the world, Grizfolk, return with a more soulful track that really showcases the vocal power we are dealing with here. That moment when Nikola comes in is reminiscent of Kimbra’s second-minute entry into “Somebody That I Used To Know”. Goosebumps.
Does your car stereo remember Griz Adam’s “The Struggle” as much as mine does? That jams has been getting endless play since October and I recently began wondering when we were gonna get a second track. Turns out that the guys changed their name to GrizFolk and have a handful of jams in the pipeline. 1st one out is the rollicking “Hymnals”, riding an unstoppable wave of percussion, keys, guitar, and singer Adam Roth’s epic vocals. I know what my song of the week is already.
Catch up with “The Struggle” if you haven’t and Los Angeles, come out to see GrizFolk tear it up at Hotel Cafe on Wednesday at 9pm. I caught a secret show a few weeks back (follow them on Facebook!) and will tell you right now that these guys mean serious fucking business. Grizfolk have to be seen to be fully believed.
