This Is Sky – “Heartbeats” (EP)

Drummer turned producer Michael Cole, better known as This Is Sky, recently released his debut EP “Heartbeats” and it is chock full of groove. “Heartbeats” is refreshing and engaging; swung drums, smooth horns, and sensual keys make it appropriate for just about any listening situation. Check out This Is Sky on Soundcloud and grab the EP for your choice of donation on Bandcamp. I’ve linked “Stuck On U (Don’t Stop)” as it’s my favorite of the three tracks, but don’t let me decide, check them all out and see for yourself!

BROODS – “Four Walls”

Fall isn’t too far away, and that means it’s time to make room in our playlists for some weather appropriate tunes. It’s safe to assume that BROOD’s debut album “Evergreen” (due out October 7th on Polydor) will be on rotation for the duration of the season. If you haven’t checked them out yet, now is definitely the time. Their latest single “Four Walls” is a slow jam fit for a first dance.

Mausi – “My Friend Has A Swimming Pool” + The Magician & Star Slinger Remixes

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t posted this song yet. Honestly, at first I thought it was kind of silly but then after listening a couple times (read: ten) I realized that what makes it silly is also what makes it so charming. “My Friend Has A Swimming Pool” is an undeniable summer jam and it is exactly the kind of track that I want to play as soon as I walk into a party. Mausi even snagged The Magician for a wobbly, club ready remix and Star Slinger for a more laid-back cut. Check them both out on their Soundcloud here.

Grades – “Owe It To Yourself”

London’s Grades is absolutely tearing it up right now. Hot off his official remix for Lana Del Rey’s summer anthem “West Coast”, he’s lined up an exclusive premier of his new track “Owe It To Yourself” via Mixmag. It’s a dark, soulful track that’s sure to heat up dance floors and late night drives alike. It’s up for free download over at, so head on over and grab it while it’s warm.
