GIUNGLA – “Cold” // Kazuhiro Hori [LIVE @ SXSW]

Don’t let Giungla’s shy look fool you. 5 seconds into “Cold” and I know the Italian has a fierce side just under the surface. I’m so excited to see it live on Saturday when she plays our SXSW showcase! In the meantime I’ll be listening to “Cold” on repeat.

Giorgio Moroder – “Déjà Vu” (feat. Sia)

Whether you know him better as the man behind the score for 80s masterpieces like Scarface and The Never Ending Story, or the old guy talking on Random Access Memories, Giorgio Moroder is something of a legend in the electronic music world. So its understandable that some people are freaking out about his new album of unabashed pop collaborations. Its a valid feeling. But so is forgetting his past and focusing on the 3 minutes and 22 seconds of hip shaking joy on “Déjà Vú”. This thing is so much candy-coated fun that your dog only needs one lick to levitate right of the ground in excitement.  Read more

Johnny Stimson – “So Good” (Fare Soldi Rmx)

[soundcloud id=’136847699′]

Italy’s Fare Soldi are the kings of sexy disco remixes and they have done it again with Textas’ Johnny Stimson’s latest slow burner “So Good”. This international team should just quit flirting and do a whole EP together!

REMIX ALERT: Fare Soldi (+ Kendrick Lamar, Blackstreet, The Clash)

Kendrick Lamar - Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Fare Soldi Rmx)

Remember when Fare Soldi absolutely slayed that Toro Y Moi remix? Turns out these  Italians kill it on the regular! This Kendrick Lamar remix is on fire and I can’t even describe how dirty and fun the “No Diggity” remix gets. Line these two up on a party playlist this weekend and prepare to crack a window. Getting hot!

Not ones to be pigeon-holed by genre or decade, Fare Soldi risked blowing it all by remixing The Clash’s classic “Rock The Casbah.” Hot damn if that one didn’t come out fresh as well. Now I haven’t even mentioned their original tracks but that’s another post altogether…

[VIDEO] The Bloody Beetroots – “Rocksteady”

The Bloody Beetroots have always been love ’em or hate ’em. I’m not sure this video fully wins me over but its hard to argue with a band having this much fun. Plus this jam has high party intensity. Buckle up!

[MP3] M+A – “Liko Lene Lisa”

♫ M+A – Liko Lene Lisa

If you are anything like me and have a weakness for spastic yet charming electronic beats that are blended with instruments like horns, strings, and xylophones then you are about to enter heaven. The young duo come from the unlikely place of Forli, Italy, and have been quoted as saying:

“We listen to music to understand what we do, and we do music to understand what we listen to.”

Brilliant. I only wish I could decipher their lyrics as easily as that quote. Their debut album Things.Yes is out November 8th and you can bet I’ll be all over it.
