New Junior Boys album It’s All True has been out for a while and if you somehow haven’t heard any of it then get on “Banana Ripple” below. Free download “ep” is pleasant and all but album-closer “Banana Ripple” is 9 minutes of diagonal funk, coming around corners and under tables to creep up on your dance cortex with infectious elasticity. Don’t ask me what any of that means cause I don’t know. I just know that Junior Boys have had a hard time living up to themselves post-“In The Morning” and this track may be their big return. Or it may just be another epic jam. Again, the rest of It’s All True is nice an all but I always find myself waiting patiently for the big finale. Track it down. Even pay money for it. It’s worth it.
Shake your booty down and get as funky as we would… WE DARE YOU. Seriously, triple dog dare you.
Nurd on.

NEW RELEVENT JAMS
♫ Jamaica – 1324 Jericho / New Jamaica track from their debut album I’ve yet to be inspired to listen to. Anyone heard it? This one is kinda basic but fun.
♫ Operator Please – Catapult / Australia’s Operator Please dropped a couple super-fun jams a few years back. Their latest has some spunk to it too.
Junior Boys are back with their follow up to 2006’s So This Is Goodbye. Begone Dull Care is short (8 tracks) and sweet. The Boys have taken their sex music simple and infectious rhythms and let them linger a bit, letting most tracks run past 6 minutes (Take time at the neck!). It’s definitely an album for specific moods or actions. (*Wink!*) Anyway, “Hazel” is the first single from Begone Dull Care (get it free at their MySpace) but “Bits and Pieces” is my favorite. The throbbing (tee hee!) bass-line and breathy vocals are sure to raise your temperature a bit (and piece? ha). If you like what you hear (feel) then I recommend you scoot over to eMusic and pick up the album. Don’t let its bargain of 8 tracks fool you, it still runs 47 minutes. Plenty of time for foreplay (I’m serious about the neck).
