Remix Roundup Vol. 51 – 9.13.2011 [Madonna, Dada Life, Matt & Kim, The Drums, and more…]

Welcome back TBE vets and greetings, bonjour, buenas noches, shalom, what’s happening TBE infants.  First, we’re grateful for everyone of you.  Second, we have a slight change in the Remix Roundup methodology I wanted to let you know about.

Previously, we had been working from a Friday bi-weekly format that many of you have come very a accustomed to.  But, as awesome as those Friday roundups were, keeping to that schedule sometimes proved to be quite difficult.  Not to mention resulting in many Roundups being far too large.   I decided to clean things up.

The New Philosophy is simple… I will post a new R-R everytime I have 15 new TBE worthy remixes.  There is no set schedule.  Does this mean I will post less often???  No, actually its quite the contrary.  If you want to stay up to date on all remix roundups, then follow me on twitter @JoelAlbers

Anyway, enough with the serious talk…  Remix Roundup Vol. 51 is about to blow your head off.  PUSSSHH PLAY.

♫ Madonna – Like A Prayer (Viceroy + Alkamyme Remix) / I’ve been looking for a decade for a quality remix of this song.  The search is over.

♫ Dada Life – Fight Club Is Closed (Religion Remix) / This one puts a huge mischievous grin on my face.  This is what I call a 4-On-The-Floor BANGER.  This may just coast its way into that all important Top 50 remixes of 2011 list.

[LP] KATY B does it with the LIGHTS ON but I recommend listening to KATY ON A dark style MISSION

some others are in the cloakroom, some others are at the door, we can keep on going in the middle of the floor

Katy B is mad young and mad hyped. As the female face and voice of dub-step-gone-mainstream she has a lot of weight on her shoulders. I’ll leave the in depth analysis of all that to others but I will say that I have been enjoying quite a few tracks on her self titled debut. Big single “Katy On A Mission” was to the first to catch my ear and subsequent singles “Lights On,” “Broken Record,” and “easy Please Me” have done the same. She’s got some real pipes and with a roster of top-name producers behind her has released a solid album of jams that a even dub-step-phoebe like me can get into. Plus, who else is slipping words like “cloakroom” into their rhymes? Go Katy. That Middleton chick had the morning but you get Friday night.
