Alexander F is a music nerd’s wet dream. Led by Alex Toth of Rubblebucket, the project’s self-titled album features members of Perfect Pussy, Here We Go Magic, Celestial Shore, and Skaters, was co-produced by Delicate Steve, and mixed by John Congleton and Claudius Mittendorfer. This track’s features none other than Kimbra, who adds another spectrum in an already technicolor burst of art-rock energy. Embrace the mania in “Call Me Pretty” and its bonkers music video below.

I haven’t got my hands on Kimbra’s album yet but listening to the girl that Gotye used to know remixed by Webber makes me think I need to get my act together. He beautifully transports us not to the club, but to a poolside lounge where we can sit back with a cocktail or shimmy gently in the hot tub. The sun is setting. Dreams of the nightlife ahead emerge with thirst. I’m ready.

And just like that.  I’m back with more remix madness for your Burning Ears. Remix Roundups are a collection of the freshest remixes on the planet.  You can search high and low in this world or another, but you won’t find a remix series this dope in this galaxy or the next –  For we are from only space.

La Roux – I’m Not Your Toy (Data Remix) / Not a new tune by any means, but what a chune it is… How this song somehow slipped through the Lights & Music cracks blows my mind.  Without further ado, enjoy.
What up my TBE peeps? Â Its been long overdue, I know. Â The Reason: As some of you know I’ve been working on several other projects. Â Mainly, Lights & Music Entertainment;Â a Music Blog / Concert & Event Production Series. Â Â Does this mean I’m done with TBE? Â Nope, but most of my time will be spent building content for my own blog. Â Don’t worry, my Remix & Dubstep Roundups are alive and well over there. Â In fact, they are about to be better than ever.
I truly hope you have your bowels in check for this shit, because its about to get Nurdy as all get-up.
Frankly, its not safe in here.

I’m not quite sure what to think here.  On one hand we have a super fun pop anthem, but on the other… I feel a bit strange when songs are made out of marketing schemes.  Thats taking the love out of the music right?  I don’t know, when its all said and done the collaboration sounds like it was made in pop heaven.  You’ve got all the pieces- Foster the People’s fun synth-pop catchiness, A-Trak’s uber production talent, and Kimbra’s sexy voice.  I guess props to Converse for putting this together?  Expect this to be a huge mainstream radio hit this summer.
Ch-ch-yeah. Your favorite dub-dealer is back with those bass chunes.
Im down here in beautiful Austin, Tx (although the weather is miserably raining today) getting ready for our TBE Showcase.  This city takes on what is just an electric life during SXSW.  So many people and so much to do, the possibilites in this town are endless.  If you havent been, I highly recommend it.  Im about to go pick up Brandon up at the airport in about five minutes; which by the way, we’ve never met before.  I’ll update you on whether we want to punch each other in the faces tomorrow or not.
On with the jams.

♫ The Sonixx ft. Laura Newman – You Dont Like Me / Its exciting for me to see the artists we cover grow and do big things. Last week Gigamesh released his debuted music video- this week we’ve got The SoniXx releasing his first video.  Check it out below.
♫ Eminem – Lose Yourself (Cry Wolf Remix) / The last of rather impressive set of remixes by Cry Wolf.  You can catch bass lords Cry Wolf at out SXSW Showcase closing out both Friday and Saturday nights.
Songs are pretty amazing things. It’s magical that such a small thing can be so powerful. In the blink of an eye a song can make you smile, dance, cry, think, laugh, etc. These are the ones that did all those things for me the second half of 2011. Read more

Ahem! Excuse me. If you thought you were taking a break because last weekend was New Years Eve then forget it. This is the first weekend of 2012 and it’s time to kick things off right. Below is a list of the best remixes of the past 6 months and they are quite restless so please let them out this weekend. Walks and feeding are optional.
Any glaring errors in judgement? Any additions you would make? Any good pizza in L.A.?
22. ♫ Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata (Sound Remedy Remix) / Don’t fuck with a classic unless you are going to do it justice. That goes double for my dog Beethoven. Good thing justice was served! Plus: wobbles I can stand.
17. ♫ M83 – Midnight City (Alcala Remix) / One of the top remixed songs of the year had stiff competition but Alcala’s slow build explodes the original into the stratospheric massiveness that it always hinted at.
11. ♫ Rihanna – We Found Love (Viceroy Remix) / Don’t hate. Dance. And make weird noises to the beat. No better or more refreshing take on this saturated jam.
8. ♫ Citizens! – True Romance (Gigamesh Remix) / From the moment Gigamesh drops that beat it’s all over. The windows are down and I’m practically climbing out the window to get the whipping wind on my face. Thank goodness for seat belts.
4. ♫ KAMP! – Cairo (Moullinex Remix) / This one gets stuck in your head and then lays little dancing critters that bust synchronized dance routines every time you poorly sing along.
1. ♫ The Notorious B.I.G – Everyday Struggle (Frogs in Socks BiG Bootleg) / Just as you get your head around the odd and minimal beat you realize that Biggie sounds clearly than ever and everything fits in such an awkwardly perfect way you wonder how such a thing could exist. Then you understand that the world is full of all sorts of miracles that nobody can explain.
