[STREAM / COVER] The Young Professionals – “Be With You Tonight” & “Video Games” (Lana Del Rey cover)

should find a faster train, a taxi in the rain, i should be laying now with you in a bed somehow

I don’t know how I missed this new mega dance jam by Tel Aviv favorites The Young Professionals but I’m making up for lost time with repeated listens now. This oversized and infectious love banger also come with a video made of fan photos inspired by the lyrics. And there is also their great Lana Del Rey cover that I also somehow have never posted. I’m sorry.

[VIDEO] Lana del Rey – “National Anthem”

So Lana gets all Mr. & Mrs. JFK with A$AP Rocky in the beautiful video for “National Anthem” but the real question is why? I certainly hope there isn’t a message. This song is already so heavy with clichéd lyrics. I just like watching A$Sap feel on that butt. Go get it!

[REMIX] Lana Del Rey – “Blue Jeans (RAC Remix)”

cause i’m a ride or die, whether you fail or fly

I’m late on this one but it’s two blog powerhouses together on one track and its awesome so just enjoy all the bouncy sultry sexiness.

[COVER] John Mayer – “Video Games” (Lana Del Rey cover)

♫ John Mayer – Video Games (Lana Del Rey Cover)

While rumors of the two dating haven’t surfaced (yet) we have these two music institutions together in a much more palatable way. Mayer whipped up an instrumental guitar version of “Video Games” and damn if it isn’t pretty stellar. In my head this version isn’t even instrumental because the rhythm alone brings all the words to mind instantly.

[EP] Bastille – OTHER PEOPLE’S HEARTACHE (w/ “What Would You Do?” & “Of The Night”)

get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses

♫ Bastille – What Would You Do? (City High cover)

If you only know UK’s Bastille from last year’s stellar jam “Flaws” then the emotional weight of his new mixtape may be a bit jarring. The thing is, what makes this guy so interesting is his ability to balance fun dance grooves with samples from Requiem For A Dream and lyrics about abused children (cover of City High’s “What Would You Do?” above). It’s more real then we expect our indie pop music to be. It’s also quite stunning.

♫ Bastille – Of The Night

On this more straightforward dance-song-sampling jam Bastille still lays a deep distortion filter on the vocals in the chorus, giving the thing an eerie ominous feeling. But still awesome and fun. Weird.

Bastille also covers Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans” and brilliantly samples “Ms Jackson” on the EP. Other People’s Heartache is FREE so grab it now and go deep as we wait for more greatness from UK’s Bastille.

[REMIX] Lana Del Rey – “Born To Die” (Guxxi Vump Remix)

sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough and i dont know why

♫ Lana Del Rey – Born To Die (Guxxi Vump Remix)

Lana Del Rey absolutely doesn’t need any more remixes but if you are making a movie where congo warriors travel to a future of robot cops and there is a montage of them prepping for a big rumble under a freeway overpass then this is your jam.

Dubstep Roundup Vol. 28 – 2.17.2012 [Foxes, Krewella, Zedd, Digitalism and more…]

Finally, Dubstep Roundup Vol. 28

Its been some time since I’ve dropped some silly bass on your faces.  The Reason: I’ve been working on projects inside and outside of TBE, so its been difficult to mangage time (video clip at the bottom).  Whats awesome: Brandon and I will have some exciting announcements coming up in the next week or so.  For now: Bury your heads in the bass below.

I’ll see you Nurds on the dark side.
