A Playlist for Stevie’s Postcard Project

So my little buddy Stevie is embarking a pretty big journey tomorrow and I’m trying to help him calm his nerves. He started this Kickstarter project to build some friends to send postcards to. If thats confusing you can check out his project because he explains it better than me. However, I did make him a playlist for his travels and figured I would share it with you guys!

When I played him the playlist he had a few comments I’ll include here. Enjoy and please do check out his project!

1. Coldplay – Postcards From Far Away

Yeah, thats me sending postcards from far away!

2. Paula & Karol – Goodnight Warsaw

Well not “Goodnight” because I haven’t met Warsaw yet so I’m gonna sing “Hello Warsaw!”

3. Rogue Wave – Postage Stamp World

Yea I think thats my new world…

4. Joywave – London

Its dark and weird but I like it. Did I just describe my future feelings on London?

6. RDGLDGRN – Lootin In London

I’ll certainly try not to… and I’ll give stern looks to any looters I see!

17. Beirut – Postcards From Italy

18. Bayside – Phone Call From Poland

They should have called this song “A Postcard from Poland” but maybe that never happened to them. I could fix that!

19. Maximo Park – Postcard Of A Painting

I prefer postcards with pictures of rivers or trees or buildings. Just my personal preference.

20. Europe – The Final Countdown

Remix Roundup Vol. 71 – THE RETURN! PART 1

I know, I know. It’s been too long. The Remix Roundups are back and I guarantee they will be more fun then ever. Here is Vol 71 for your weekend enjoyment and I already have Vol 72 coming together. Both of them are a kind of “house cleaning” of all the amazing remixes of 2013 that never got Roundup love. They will be followed by the Best Remixes of 2013 post. Thats a lot of music. Drink a lot of water and don’t forget to stretch.

Oh, and there are a few jams included in the ZIP below that aren’t on Soundcloud anymore so make sure you grab that…

Magic Man – “Every Day”

Magic Man - You Are Here

Boston’s Magic Man are following is Passion Pit’s bouncy footsteps of good times indie dance joy. Hard to deny the fun and positivity in this one. Come play LA please before you guys blow up too big…

MAGIC MAN is clearly not a DAUGHTER but still play great music

turn up the static now, weather’s getting hotter

♫ Magic Man – Daughter

Magic Man says it best on their MySpace:

Magic Man is a Boston-based duo that grew out of spare moments and idle hours during a summer spent volunteering on organic farms in the French countryside. Songs written and recorded in the land of wine and cheese were brought back home, where final adjustments, tweaks, and edits were made.

It’s an odd history for music with so many electronic elements and real moments of danceability, but in many ways it fits the album perfectly. Magic Man’s debut LP, Real Life Color, is filled with mostly relaxing grooves that sooth the ears and delicately soundtrack your activities without being too distracting. “Daughter,” however, lives up to it’s namesake and demands a bit more attention. It’s hard not to perk up as all those instruments bounce along in harmony and slightly fuzzed vocals wash right over the top. As if this jam wasn’t pleasing enough, Magic Man are currently giving away the whole 10-track album of Real Life Color away for FREE here. Sweetness.
