New Jam Digest 5.13.2014

Longtime TBE readers will remember the TBE Digest and its periodic roundup of jams that are ear-worthy but don’t necessarily need a whole post. I’d really like to focus posts on introducing new bands to you all but there are a lot of great jams by bands I’ve talked about enough already. I’ll compile them here! Blah, blah, blah, get to the music!

What did I miss!?

Pompeya – “Night”

Mmm, yeah. Such damn good summery grooves

Twin Shadow – “To The Top”

What a huge anthem!

The Swiss – “Antiquities”

All kinds of digital dreaminess! Ride it!

Memoir – “Minimum Wage (The Heist)”

Great new one from Memoir!

Madi Diaz – “Stay Together”

Oohh yeah! Finally released and sounding fantastic!

Venice Music Crawl #2 @ Wurstküche 9/21/2013 – Presented by The Burning Ear & Friends

I am more than pleased to announce that The Burning Ear has teamed up with fellow LA bloggers Blah Blah Blah Science and Free Bike Valet for the hottest stage of music at this weekend’s Venice Music Crawl. VMC is an all day FREE music event along Venice’s Lincoln Blvd and we have some awesome bands lined up to play. TBE alums like Story of The Running Wolf, Gamble & Burke, Walla, Kid Cadaver, & Memoir are on the bill as well as a handful of new favorites. Plus our venue is the famous Wurstküche beer and sausage hall across the street from where I grew up!

Catch up on all the bands in the playlist below and I will see all you LA folks on Saturday for beer, sausages, and music!

[MP3] Memoir – “Los Angeles”

Memoir is the L.A. based duo of lyricist Dena Deadly, and musician and music producer, Zed Kelley. This song about their city (and mine) is a straight sexy jam. Get into it.
