Dubstep Roundup Vol. 23 – 9.23.2011 [SebastiAn, Zeds Dead, Alex Metric, Gotye, and more…]

WARNING: I advise a physical check up before digging into this ridonculous list of heart grinders.  You know… to make sure that ol’ ticker of yours is up to snuff.  Anyway, I think it would be smart.

That being said, I hope you enjoy ;)

Joel & Scott’s Top 50 Remixes of 2010

Welcome back party peeps.  We, Joel & Scott are proud to bring you our Top 50 Remixes of 2010.

Totally wish we could think of some rad shite to introduce this wicked cool Top 50 list with, but we’re both having some serious writers block here.  Typically in this situation we would just drink or get some sort of major caffeine stimulation (often both).  Not gonna lie, we enjoyed the hell out of our super strong energy/alcoholic beverages, but thanks to Central Washington University students the shite is outlawed.  Please, we’d love to hear your side of the story.   Anyway,… by now if you are a TBE follower you know that we are two dudes (Joel & Scott) originally from Seattle that just love to get Nurdy’ and melt our faces on that dirty d-floor.   And yeah, remixes to us are what platinum haired Bunnies are to Hugh Hefner.

Lastly, you might think its a little late for a “Best of List”, but that was a deliberate move on our part.  We at TBE don’t believe in a  “Best of List” before the New Year and we really wanted to take our time.  2010 was an incredible year for DJs and remix artists around the world.  Our top two remixes this year may very well be two of our top remixes of all time.  Its amazing to see the support DJs are now getting around the globe.  Don’t forget that they’re the ones that keep us dancing.

Keep dancing all, and if any of the following songs change your life YOU’RE WELCOME.  (Don’t forget to check out our Top 10 Dubstep Remixes of 2010)

The Best Remixes of 2010… Since Then (July-Dec.)

Damn. Another great year for remixes. Whether bringing the dance heat, adding a different texture, or completely flipping a song over, we were hit with all kinds of solid sonic reworkings. No surprise to see some of TBE’s heavy hitters like RAC, Don Diablo, Bloodshy & Avant, and The Soundmen and a warm welcome to some new names that nailed their mixes to my repeat button. All of the top 6, as well as a few others, are remixes of tracks that never really caught me in their original form but now have become some of my favorite jams of the year. A whole new life was infused into them and isn’t that what a great remix is all about?

15. ♫ Sleigh Bells – AB Machines (French Horn Rebellion Remix)

14. ♫ Johnny Polygon ft Kid Cudi – Riot Song (The Soundmen Remix) / It’s official. Kid Cudi should only Read more

The Best Songs of 2010 for Shaking Your Ass/Rump/Donk/Moneymaker/What Your Mama Gave You: A New Years Eve Collection

The year comes to a close tomorrow and it’s time to start compiling those “Best Of” lists we all love. What better way to kick things off than with a mega-mix of the year’s best ass-shaking jams. Those tracks that just take a hold and force you to dip that hip, and just in time for New Year’s Eve!

Some are originals, some are remixes, and some are mashups. It’s no means a definitive list nor are the tracks in any sort of ranking. These are the tracks that have gotten my blood pumping all year long and so what better way to celebrate them than letting them ring in the new year! More specific lists coming once the year actually ends!

I’ve broken them down into three parts for easier navigation. If these lists were hot sauces they would Read more

Joel & Scotts Remix Roundup Vol. 30 – 10.29.2010 [Lady Gaga, Clock Opera, Vampire Weekend, Zowie, La Roux and more]

Look people, its Halloween weekend which means shits going to get a little bit bonkers (at least here in the US).  We, Joel & Scott happen to be rather large fans of the ridiculous.  So, since we are so thrilled about this special weekend we wanted to set you off in epic fashion.

Here’s a massive cup of RR Vol.30 in your eardrums to start your weekend.

Yeah, that’s right…  We have a ridonculous logjam of tunes to throw at you.  Looks like our goal of just 12 songs is out the window, as we will have to bump it up to 20 for a while to get rid of some of this mass.  You’re welcome.

Lastly, don’t forget to break some dance floor hearts this weekend.

And oh yeah,….  Get Nurdy’

♫ The Dance Party- Sasha Don’t Sleep (Dillon Francis Remix) / Brandon posted another rad mix of this song too, not to mention the original track back in 09.  We’ve really taken a liking to this Sasha girl, and we’re pretty sure  that this Dillon Francis remix will keep her dancing.

♫ Lady Gaga- Monster (Computer Blue Remix) / Ummm yes.  Computer Blue, the duo from OK city have graced all of our eardrums with a BANGER.  This one is special.

Remix Roundup Vol. 25 / 9.12.2010 / Joel & Scott present: Crystal Castles, Mike Posner, The Temper Trap, B.o.B, Rihanna, and more!

Let me introduce ourselves for we are the new faces….  Who are we you ask?  Well I’d like to think we laugh with the sinners and cry with the saints, but honestly we don’t hang out with too many of them saints.  I wish we were clever and able to come up with something sweet to say like this…

Born out of the mouths of wolves and serpents.
Raised up by degenerates and whores in the gutters of your forgotten cities.
Among the spawn of your outcast, your rebuked, your lepers.
Breaking bread with gangsters, hustlers, real motherfuckers
Scorned by your fearful leaders, and your simple masses.
Bearing no marking, no number, no names.
Only one sign, the Rad Omen.
For we are many, for we are many.

But, that would be ridiculous; as that is Rad Omens Bio on Myspace (damn).

The truth is that we are two dudes (Joel & Scott) from Seattle Washington that just love to get Nurdy’ and melt our faces on that dirty d-floor.   Remixes to Us are what platinum haired Bunnies are to Hugh Hefner.  We love Read more

Remix Roundup /// Vol. 4

Here at TBE I like to focus on new artists we are about to love and new tracks by artists we already love. BUT! Sometimes a remix comes along that just hast to be shared (danced to), and even more often a dozen remixes come along, hence the Remix Roundup. This week has some fantastic remixers (Designer Drugs, Don Diablo, Bloodshy & Avant, etc) remixing some TBE faves (La Roux, Basement Jaxx, Frankmusik, etc.). Crank the volume, clear the dance floor and download away!
