Remix Roundup Vol. 71 – THE RETURN! PART 1

I know, I know. It’s been too long. The Remix Roundups are back and I guarantee they will be more fun then ever. Here is Vol 71 for your weekend enjoyment and I already have Vol 72 coming together. Both of them are a kind of “house cleaning” of all the amazing remixes of 2013 that never got Roundup love. They will be followed by the Best Remixes of 2013 post. Thats a lot of music. Drink a lot of water and don’t forget to stretch.

Oh, and there are a few jams included in the ZIP below that aren’t on Soundcloud anymore so make sure you grab that…

RAC – “Repeating Motion” (ft. Karl Kling)

[soundcloud id=’134352285′]

In case you missed it, TBE fave RAC just released a new shimmering synth groover from his upcoming double album project Strangers. Andre says:

I’m giving away a song from Strangers Part II.  It’s called Repeating Motion featuring my good friend Karl Kling who has been with RAC from the beginning.  So happy to share this one with everyone.

Strangers is my new album coming out in two parts. Part I (03/04) and Part II (04/01)!
Part I features brand new songs with Tegan & Sara, Alex Ebert from Edward Sharpe, Body Language, etc.

SPEAK – “Be Reasonable, Diane”

[soundcloud id=’132272084′]

TBE Homies Speak just announced a tour with RAC so you know half the country just checked their calendars (don’t be in the wrong half!). To celebrate they released a new jam “Be Reasonable, Diane” and it couldn’t be sweeter. These guys from Austin craft some of the finest soulful yet party worthy tracks around. First a killer Los Angeles residency at The Bootleg and now this? 2014 is going to a be big year for Speak.

Gentlemen Hall – “Sail Into The Sun” (RAC Mix)

RAC recently released his debut EP and I’ve been meaning to review that and tack on this overlooked remix to it. But it keeps coming on in m car and I keep enjoying it so much that it deserves its own post. So there. RAC at his remix finest. God to hear.

RAC – “Let Go” (ft. Kele & MNDR)

RAC - Let Go (ft. Kele & MNDR)

We all know I love me some RAC. Bloc Party made one of my favorite albums of the mid-2000s. MNDR is no slouch either. Together they sound pretty damn good. I still think RAC was at his finest when he was remixing things in odd ways back in the day. His “safe” approach to production these days feels a little too close to his peers in a genre he all but created. But I’ll take this jam with a cocktail any day. I just hope he starts pioneering some new sounds soon.

Remix Roundup Vol. 69 – Approx. Jan 2013

100-bolt-paddedDamn, these have been rocking my iTunes for months now but laziness/selfishness has kept them from being wrapped and gifted for your ears. No time to talk. Get down to the rock.
