[VIDEO] Regina Spektor – “Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)”
I’m liking Regina’s vibe more and more with this album. This video makes absolutely no sense but I bet making it was a blast.

Regina is back and means business. I was disappointed by her last LP Far but it looks like she means business on new album What We Saw From The Cheap Seats (out May 29th). First single “All The Rowboats” is a massively infectious jam with a punchy groove, layered piano lines, and Regina’s silky voice wrapping around it all. Ughh, I just love me some good piano and few do it better than Regina. I’m stoked.
In continuing with the tradition of great music coming out of Ontario we have Valery Gore. Her sophomore album, Avalanche To Wandering Bear, came out last year but it’s single “Shoes Of Glass” just found me recently. As more and more underwhelming new Regina Spektor tracks leak, it’s refreshing to hear some really fantastic female piano-based folk-pop. I’m gonna go ahead and attribute it to Valery’s bear-skin helmet. Usually works for me.
I caught this track off of Music For Ants a few weeks ago and its been growing on me more and more. Anni Rossi is some kind of viola virtuoso and crafts light yet slightly haunting little ditties that remind me of the awesome Regina Spektor. “Machine” is the perfect soundtrack to the kind of lazy Saturday I’m having over here. I’ll also throw in her cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.” Not sure what to think of it but it’s interesting nonetheless. I like the way she sings “weirdo.” Her debut LP Rockwell is out now.
