♫ Boys Noize – Arcade Robot (Sound Remedy Remix) / A mix that would have vibed perfectly with the Drive Soundtrack. Its too late for that,.. and that’s a shame.
♫ Justice – Helix (Don Diablo Remix) / Noisemaker Don Diablo is back with a fiesty remix. He is also about to blow Asia/Australia up on his upcoming tour. For info check out his Facebook.

Brandon’s TBE Digest is a place where I gather up all the recent jams that are worth a listen (or 10) but don’t necessarily need their own post. Here you will find new tracks by known bands, remixes, covers, and even mashups if they are interesting. My favorites of the lot are in bold.
It’s a big one folks. Proceed with caution (and good speakers). Also note the new Digest logo that will be here to stay. Enough of that little weird cartoon guy we had for so long, amiright!? Cheers to new beginnings! And new jams!

See that nifty little intro in italics up there? Yeah, it was brought to my attention that these Digests didn’t come with much in the way of explanation and even dedicated TBE readers may not really understand what the heck these are considering I haven’t explained them in about 22 volumes. Oops. Anyway, this Digest has some real jam-a-roonies so quit reading my baloney and get in there!

NEW RELEVENT JAMS
♫ The Rapture – How Deep Is Your Love / The Rapture return after waaaay too many years absent with a jam. It’s no “Whoo Alright” but it does bode well for more sweetness from these guys.

♫ Jason Falkner- Only You (Zeds Dead Remix) / This tune burns through you like injected hot lava into your veins. Zeds Dead, never letting off the bass pedal have given us a brilliant one.
♫ James Blake – Limit To Your Love (Benny Benassi Remix) (Live) / Holy shit! Benny Benassi droppin dubstep? Oh, and shit is straight balling. That Benassi guy seems, I dont know… Talented??? Yeah, thats it. Two big names and Benassi balances them out perfectly.
♫ Joywave – Traveling At The Speed Of Light
Joywave already dominated my February with their epic track “Golden State” and now they’ve dropped a free mixtape titled 77777 to tie us over until a proper debut. 77777 is a mix of reworked tracks and original material that includes that Robyn cover as well as the original version of that Cosmonaut Grechko remix of “Travelling At The Speed Of Light.” It’s way more slow burn than “Golden State” but still showcases the bands rhythm and emotion.
♫ Joywave – Betelgeuse (Miike Snow & LCD Soundsystem)
With the tracks using material from other bands Joywave have woven different songs together into a sort of “this sounds familiar…” backdrop for their own vocals. Since “Betelgeuse” uses Miike Snow it’s naturally my favorite. Twinkling above the twitchy grooves of “Silvia” are pieces of LCD Soundsystem’s “Someone Great.” Inspired pairings like this are all over 77777 with standout “Winnipeg” sandwiching Foals between two Drake tracks and “Titan” layering Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Nine Inch Nails, and A-Ha. If you thought that was bold, they even cover a Limp Bizkit song with a minimal Joywave vibe. Alright, you get the picture with this mixtape. Get on 77777 now.
Joywave hail from Rochester, NY, but have made their mark on my ears with this epic jam about love and loss in my home state on the left coast. “Golden State” pulls no punches, hard charging like souped up convertible on it’s way to Hooksville via a detour in Singalongstown. It’s a big, unabashed break-up rock song full of soul, guitars, and drums. And I can’t stop listening to it.
♫ Joywave – Hang With Me (Robyn Cover)
In a showcase of their eclectic style, Joywave have blessed us with a mellowed-out cover of the track made famous by Robyn’s own 2010 cover. Among their minimal instrumentation, Robyn’s version gets time-stretched to 800% and features as an ‘instrument.’ It’s an interesting yet successful take on the song, and even comes paired with a more interesting video treatment.
Totally wish we could think of some rad shite to introduce this wicked cool Top 50 list with, but we’re both having some serious writers block here. Typically in this situation we would just drink or get some sort of major caffeine stimulation (often both). Not gonna lie, we enjoyed the hell out of our super strong energy/alcoholic beverages, but thanks to Central Washington University students the shite is outlawed. Please, we’d love to hear your side of the story.  Anyway,… by now if you are a TBE follower you know that we are two dudes (Joel & Scott) originally from Seattle that just love to get Nurdy’ and melt our faces on that dirty d-floor.  And yeah, remixes to us are what platinum haired Bunnies are to Hugh Hefner.
Lastly, you might think its a little late for a “Best of List”, but that was a deliberate move on our part. We at TBE don’t believe in a “Best of List” before the New Year and we really wanted to take our time. 2010 was an incredible year for DJs and remix artists around the world. Our top two remixes this year may very well be two of our top remixes of all time. Its amazing to see the support DJs are now getting around the globe. Don’t forget that they’re the ones that keep us dancing.
Keep dancing all, and if any of the following songs change your life YOU’RE WELCOME. (Don’t forget to check out our Top 10 Dubstep Remixes of 2010)
