♫ Gemini – Crew Love (Drake ft The Weeknd Cover)
Apparently Gemini is a big dubstep producer in the UK but thank goodness he left that at the door while beautifully covering “Crew Love.” Also props for changing up the lyrics so us white people can comfortably sing along.
♫ Ellie Goulding – High For This (The Weeknd cover)
Ellie Goulding came on so strong with 2009’s “Starry Eyed” and then straight fell off the game with that snoozer LP Lights. Could this inspired Weeknd cover signify a rebirth? Well, we’ll see. People forget she cut her teeth on inspired covers (that Sam Sparro one is a classic!) although the minimal production is certainly working on her delicate voice.
♫ Ellie Goulding – High For This (William Carney Remix)
Aaaaand the remix. Two-steppin’! Hot feet! Keep ’em movin!
What up my TBE peeps? Â Its been long overdue, I know. Â The Reason: As some of you know I’ve been working on several other projects. Â Mainly, Lights & Music Entertainment;Â a Music Blog / Concert & Event Production Series. Â Â Does this mean I’m done with TBE? Â Nope, but most of my time will be spent building content for my own blog. Â Don’t worry, my Remix & Dubstep Roundups are alive and well over there. Â In fact, they are about to be better than ever.
I truly hope you have your bowels in check for this shit, because its about to get Nurdy as all get-up.
Frankly, its not safe in here.

Adventure Club – Do I See Color (Dafusia Remix)Â “LME” favorites get the Dafusia treatment. Â Have no clue who Dafusia is, but I dig the way he treats tracks…
Band Of Horses – The Funeral (Sound Remedy Remix) / This is one hell of a melodic dubstep tune.  Sound Remedy, a Lights & Music alum, was working with magic glow-sticks when he created this gem. Read more
When I think of Cinco de Mayo in Los Angeles I don’t think of cemeteries but that’s where I ended up last night. And it was perfect. The day of sun and beer had given way to a sharp black sky and looming supermoon. People lounging, snacking, and boozing just feet from the eternally resting. Then The Weeknd took the stage and brought a ruckus that immediately woke us all. His epic voice lived up to the records and he had energy for days. Whereas Edward Sharpe left me checking my watch, last night my mind didn’t wander from the stage for a second. Then The Weekend lays down his “oooohs” from Drake’s “Crew Love” and got into his lines, much to everyone’s delight. Then Read more
MJ lives & is even more fucked up than we thought. Maybe Weeknd’s best but LP 3 didn’t grab me like the first. I’m really curious for next.
[Quickies are mini-reviews that can fit into a 140 character tweet. They are of albums that people already know of but perhaps are curious about our take on it. What did you think of the disc?]
♫ The Weeknd – Echoes of Silence (The Lost Boys Remix)
I wasn’t going to post about the newest Weeknd album at all since the thing didn’t resonate with me much for whatever reason but then this Lost Boys remix made for a easy excuse to throw my two cents in the ring. But really, ignore my two cents. Focus on this remix. It adds just the right amount of spark to illuminate the dark hollows of the Weekend’s original.

Brandon’s TBE Digest is a place where I gather up all the recent jams that are worth a listen (or 10) but don’t necessarily need their own post. Here you will find new tracks by known bands, remixes, covers, and even mashups if they are interesting. My favorites of the lot are in bold.
I have got to start writing less in these descriptions. You guys come here for the music. Get to it.
