Wrestlers – “Say Anything” (Feat. Twin Shadow and D’Angelo Lacy)

Sounds Like… being seduced by a soulful busker while dancing your way to the club.

Location: Houston, TX.

Future: With collabs from Twin Shadow and an buttersmooth RAC remix? Nice and bright.

New Jam Digest 5.13.2014

Longtime TBE readers will remember the TBE Digest and its periodic roundup of jams that are ear-worthy but don’t necessarily need a whole post. I’d really like to focus posts on introducing new bands to you all but there are a lot of great jams by bands I’ve talked about enough already. I’ll compile them here! Blah, blah, blah, get to the music!

What did I miss!?

Pompeya – “Night”

Mmm, yeah. Such damn good summery grooves

Twin Shadow – “To The Top”

What a huge anthem!

The Swiss – “Antiquities”

All kinds of digital dreaminess! Ride it!

Memoir – “Minimum Wage (The Heist)”

Great new one from Memoir!

Madi Diaz – “Stay Together”

Oohh yeah! Finally released and sounding fantastic!

[PREMIERE] Lincoln Jesser – “Run My Heart” (Twin Shadow Cover)

[soundcloud id=’134772808′]

Today is a special day in so many ways. Its Friday, its Valentines Day, and its day 2 in the release of TBE 5 Year Album tracks. This one comes from Los Angeles’ Lincoln Jesser who delivers a fantastic take on Twin Shadow’s “Run My Heart”.

Lincoln Jesser has been going strong for months now, releasing great tracks on the regular. His signature mix of synth and soul makes each new track highly anticipated. However, I don’t think anyone is ready for the magical things he did to “Run My Heart”. That slow grind drop gets me every time.

The Happy Birthday TBE Album – With exclusive covers and remixes from Noah Hyde, Pr0files, Lincoln Jesser, Parade of Lights and more…

This is just a teaser to get you all as excited as I am. To celebrate the 5th birthday of The Burning Ear I’m putting together an album of exclusive remixes of covers of the best TBE jams of the past 5 years. Contributing artists like Pr0files, Noah Hyde, Lincoln Jesser, Y Luv, Wiley Webb, Memoryy, Germany Germany, and more will be remixing or covering songs by Miike Snow, Twin Shadow, Scavenger Hunt, Yeasayer, Phosphorescent, Rhye, Frank Ocean, and more.

The list goes one and makes my heart skip a beat every time I read it. And dont even get me started on heart skips when I LISTEN to these jams. Holy cow. You guys are in for a treat.

AND THEN, there is the epic album artwork above created by the amazing Meghan Ellie Smith. I’m basically a mess of excitement over here.

Stay tuned. The project rolls out next week….

Twin Shadow – “Old Love / New Love”

Twin Shadow - Old Love New Love

New Twin Shadow took a second to grow on me but now it’s hot hot hot! Don’t get distracted by that creepy album art. Just put it on repeat and enjoy. The song is in the Grand Theft Auto V video game so some of you have had it on repeat anyway.
