There’s a precise art to making a happy-sounding sad song, and Fake Shark are proving themselves as masters of that art with “NOFOMO”. There’s plenty of lyrical bummer to sink your teeth into if you’re feeling particularly #sadboy / #sadgirl, but dammit if you won’t be jumping around like a goof the whole time. Time to see if you can frown and dance at the same time.

“Hollie” is built atop a chopped synth loop fascinating enough on its own before iamforest unleashes a bizarro-orchestra of parts, each intricate and elaborate on its own accord. But the minimal lyrics and melody pull you gently along as he strips parts away and builds them back up, bit by bit. Keep your ears peeled for the upcoming Bridges EP, set for full release summer 2017.

Noble Oak does his name justice by providing another solid jam to hold on to in these changing times. His debut album Past Life came out earlier this year and the whole thing is beautiful and comforting. To have a new single so quickly on the heels I wouldn’t imagine he is ever struck by droughts of inspiration. However his creative process works, it s great to have the featherlight good vibes of “Another Way” to get through this week.

Hold on tight because this dream is blasting off and taking you with it. Vancouver’s GOODWOODATOMS explode a swirling explosion of infectious riffs, grooves, and beats in “Dreaming About”. It is a weird and wonderful ride that any fan of early Everything Everything will enjoy. “Tech Know” slowly brings us back to earth for a bit… kinda… or are we still dreaming?

Long time TBE faves Bear Mountain just got remixed by new TBE favorites mAsis and its got me swimming in a dream state of pulsing grooves and spinning. The track starts with a slow yawn like a weekend morning and methodically builds its way towards the coffee pot.
Don’t sleep on the original for once you fully wake up from the dream.
