Wildlife Control – “Gizelle Pt.1” // Jem Creswell

“Giselle Pt.1” comes from the soundtrack of More Than T, a film focused on the lives of seven transgendered and gender nonconforming people. Even without the visual component it was composed for, “Gizelle Pt.1” is grand, sweeping, and full of hope. Just what I would expect from TBE faves Wildlife Control.

More Than T premieres on Showtime this Friday 6/23 at 7pm ET/PT. You can listen to the rest of the soundtrack below:

[MP3] Wildlife Control – “Ages Places”

Wildlife Control - Ages Placesnot so much older but the weight on my shoulders, i feel like a vampire who’s been through the ages

If you know Brooklyn’s Wildlife Control for their TBE fave jam “Analog or Digital” then you’ll need to shift down a few gears for this smoldering slow(er) track. Like an ember in the Austin wind this one starts with a flicker before catching some air and igniting into full flame. Catch the firestorm live this Friday at midnight at SXSW for the CD Baby showcase. TBE faves Letting Up Despite Great Faults are also playing plus I’ll be DJing between sets so expect back-2back good times!

[PREMIERE] Wildlife Control – “Different”

Wildlife Control - Different

when they say you’re not the same, its all right

Wildlife Control already locked down one of last year’s top jams with “Analog or Digital” and now they are back with whole new bag of tricks. “Different” cuts away from the heavy dance-pop hooks of “Analog” and ventures into a spacier alt-rock realm. Drums, guitars, and those falsetto vocals blaze this epic trail. Evolution rarely sounds this good.

[MP3 / VIDEO] Wildlife Control – “Analog or Digital”

i could never could never get a job with a paid vacation ’cause the records i play are my only education

♫ Wildlife Control – Analog or Digital

  • Who: Two brothers
  • What: Big indie rock, like Capital Cities, The Henry Clay People, PK
  • Where: San Francisco & Brooklyn + Facebook
  • When: Buy their debut self-titled LP now.
  • Why: Rowdy indie rock jams don’t get any bigger or radio friendly than this. And I mean that in the best way. “Analog or Digital” is the kind of song that stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it. Guitar and drums whipping by so fast it seems like the whole thing is one wrong step from coming coming off the tracks. I think its the bass that keeps it all together. Time to get the rest of the album! But first dig into this beautifully frenetic stop motion jam of a video.
