These
David Guetta & Akon – Sexy Bitch – Just in case you somehow missed this one, don’t sleep. “I’m trying to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful.” Brilliant.
Them Crooked Vultures – New Fang – A supergroup of Josh Homme, Dave Ghrol, Â and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones? After Buddyhead’s post-coital rant about this jam my expectations were high. I’ve yet to be mounted as it’s result but the song has grown on me. The album, however, is just not for me.
Janelle Monae – Come Alive (The War of the Roses) / I pegged Janelle as one to watch this year and so far she has pulled out a Coke commercial and this is for KIA. This jam definitely has it’s moments, but I may have fallen off the Monae-wagon. I like this song but there is just too much screaming, girl. Take it down like 2 notches.
Awesome New Republic – Last Drop / ANR have been hit and miss since the days of “Birthday” and the trend continues on their first full length. Again, “Last Drop” has it’s moments but ultimately falls flat, especially amidst the snoozers on the rest of Hearts.
Shy Child – Criss Cross / Shy Child and I have shared some good times, especially during “Summer,” but this new business does not bode well for our future together. Yawn…
Leighton Meester – Set It On Fire / Actress from the show Gabber Gals tries to make music by jacking New Order (via Orgy) and then telling us how her heat sets everything on fire. I’m not even reading this anymore.
Wallpaper. – I Got Soul, I’m So Wasted / DJ superheros responsible for “Evrytm We Do It” as well as epic remixes of “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell,” “Sleepyhead,” and “The Reeling” release a solo album!? Hell yeah! Oh wait, it blows. Damn.
Editors – Papillon / The Editors did me right on their first two albums and now they are trying this no-guitar gloom business that is just not flying.
DJ Tiesto – It’s Not The Things You Say (Feat. Kele Okereke) / Oh God, this record is everything you feared it would be. Pitchfork was generous.
If you're going to acknowledge this recycled regurgitated mediocre (at best) *cough* music *cough*. At least it's in a single column and away from the gold that is the rest of, the burning ear. Best… music… site… ever.
Keep up the great work.
Best…. Comment….. Ever….. *cough* *cough*…
“I'm not even reading this anymore.” perfect.
Awwww I like this song by Janelle Monae! She makes the song come ALLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE! LOL
trans-atlantic dap: received.
HAhahahaa, well said. I like it to, i just don't loooove it. I'm still waiting for a proper album, I haven't dropped her like Cudi or anything.
I love Janelle Monae's single Come Alive (War of the Roses)…it's so different from everything else she's done. The screaming helps accentuate the hypnotic eeriness of the song. It's great, I can't wait for the new album to drop.
Haha, well I'm glad you are digging it. It just didn't fully click with me.

some of these songs definitely deserve their own posts!! I love David Guetta! He has the most awesome music! i listen to it all the time! I downloaded it from http://www.kazaa.com – The beats in his music are just unbelievable!
True, David Guetta is solid at what he does but it's not really my type of music. Still got love in the Digest, though!
