If Du Tonc is the upbeat tropical dance vibe to perfectly start out the night then Wilks is the dark and gritty deep house to lose your drunk ass in later. “Ghetto” gets a bit spooky with its mean-mugging (and Q-Tip sampling) vocals but then “Move” picks up the beat and lightens the mood. A bit… Wilks seems to be operating from a pretty dark place. And I mean that literally. I bet there aren’t many lights on when he makes these beats. And that is fine. There shouldn’t be any on when you are listening to them.
