End Of Fashion – Fussy

Don’t let Baz Lurman’s latest galloping turd turn you off to the land of Oz forever. It’s time we reconcile the loss of those 165 minutes and let Australia start redeeming itself. Cue End Of Fashion. Their music videos may contain some pretty morbid serial-killer type stuff but as you can hear, their music is far from black nail polish and eyeliner. Australia’s End Of Fashion pack some big anthems and swinging hooks on the rest of their Nicole-Kidman-free 2008 release Book Of Lies.

And on the eighth day the Lord (of the Internet) said “Let there be a music blog that is not such a shit-show, that finds only the best tunes and delivers them to me in a timely and moderately entertaining manner.” And then I said, “Oh, you don’t know about The Burning Ear? Duh.”

The Burning Ear is a music blog for people who don’t have time for music blogs. TBE sifts through tons of new music and bring the best of the best right here. TBE focuses on new music but we aren’t about the bleeding edge, the next big thing, or the “new” new (There are plenty other music blogs for that). While other music blogs pillage through the interwebs to shove new updates out, TBE is only about the good stuff. The top notch. The tunes you will find here are tried and true and more than likely will come from an album full of similarly fantastic jams. With that in mind, TBE may even talk about a band you have already heard of like 5 weeks ago. Relax! Not everyone is so on top of their shit! Anyway, welcome. We are stoked to have you here.

Who runs this musical circus?

I’m Brandon, and I’m based in Los Angeles. I started The Burning Ear from my couch in Warsaw, Poland, in February of 2009. I grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and was musically raised by KROQ. I fell in love with music at an early age and it’s been my most successful relationship to date. I live for this music, and having you come by and listen to the tunes I am digging is a huge honor. I hope you find something you love and I hope you will let me know when you do. Happy listening!

In the summer of 2011 we welcomed Taylor to the team. He hails from Eureka in Northern California, but I think we put aside our Nor-Cal/So-Cal beef in the name of sweet jams.

In the fall of 2010 resident party physician, and captain of all things “nurdy,” Joel joined TBE with a bang. He ran Remix Party Playlists and everything Dub-Step.

Bright Eyes – The First Day Of My Life

Y’all probably heard this tune before and are like “Yeah, its great, but its like wicked old. I hope all the music you put up here isn’t gonna be from like 2004.” Well no, this one is just super pertinent! Its the first post on this blog! And if you are in Poland the video is in this months episode of Cafe Muza. Check it!
