[DEBUT] Sigrid – “Don’t Kill My Vibe” // JoKa

As we get ready to start the weekend its important to appreciate the value of a good vibe. People have been working all week and are just trying to get by. When someone encroaches on your vibe make sure to blast some Sigrid at them and sing-along through the disruption until your are back on vibe balance. Which wont be too hard with Sigrid’s grooves in your ear.

Disco Shrine – SOFT FUR EP [+ Release Party Friday 2/19]

The dichotomy of Disco Shrine is inherent in their name. Half party, half spiritual devotional to said party, they are damn serious about having a damn good time. And that’s what their debut EP Soft Fur is all about. Falling in love? Dance it up. Broken heart? Dance it out. Bored? Dance it through. Lazy? Just go home then.

With this sudden heat wave we’re having in L.A. it makes a person want to get out and get weird, amirite? Thankfully local good-time goddess Beating Lights has cooked up just the right concoction for our Friday night. Join the party at The Hi-Hat to celebrate Disco Shrine’s release of Soft Fur as well as sets by King Shelter and Tambourines. PLUS DJ sets by yours truly. And if you can still stand upright after all that, there are some extra pop-up goodies. It’s like a mini music festival but without any camping or dehydration. Rally the troops and see you there!

[MP3] MyKill & Walker – “Moonlight”

Sit quietly with this one. Float into it and bob gently with the groove. Get up and dance a little if you want. Its fine. I won’t tell.

Mausi – “My Friend Has A Swimming Pool” + The Magician & Star Slinger Remixes

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t posted this song yet. Honestly, at first I thought it was kind of silly but then after listening a couple times (read: ten) I realized that what makes it silly is also what makes it so charming. “My Friend Has A Swimming Pool” is an undeniable summer jam and it is exactly the kind of track that I want to play as soon as I walk into a party. Mausi even snagged The Magician for a wobbly, club ready remix and Star Slinger for a more laid-back cut. Check them both out on their Soundcloud here.

[PREMIERE] Deluka – “American Skies”

Sounds Like… Deluka are having a damn blast. Nothing like a kiss-off anthem you can really get wild to. This is indie pop with just the right guitar grind to rough up the edges. Turn it up!

Location: Los Angeles.

Future: Deluka are playing a residency at Sayers Club in LA every Thursday is June. Their single “Home” is out now and new EP Bonds is coming June 23rd.

[PREMIERE] Deuce & Charger – “Stop The Sky From Falling” Ft Bianca Gerald & Weezy Jefferson

The Leeds, UK, music collective of Deuce & Charger finally follow up their killer groover “Always Broke” with another fine slice of soulful pop goodness. “Stop The Sky From Falling” feels transplanted from another era of classic female vocals. Bianca Gerald’s voice is silky smooth over the delicate breakbeat production. And you gotta love a bit of hip-flavor spiced in from Weezy Jefferson to spice up the soft edges. Give the blokes something to hang onto haha. Anyway, I’m excited to see where Deuce & Charger head next.

Victory – “Bad Man”

Maybe I’m just on a guitar kick these days, but this straight up rock stomper from Victory is doing me just right in this LA heat. Perfect for rolling down the mean streets with the windows down looking for trouble… or frozen yogurt. BADASS frozen yogurt! Get into the whole Victory Is Music album at Victory’s Bandcamp.

[PREMIERE] Savoir Adore – “Beating Hearts” (French Horn Rebellion Remix)

The best kind of remix is the one that breathes fresh new life into a jam we know and love. Well, whether you know Savoir Adore’s great “Beating Hearts” or not, the funkified body grooving power of this French Horn Rebellion remix is undeniable. Big elastic bass mix with waves of gritty synths for the indie-dance jam of the week! Hump day got nothin’ on this…

This remix is off of Savoir Adore’s Our Nature The Remixes album which comes out April 29th. The band is currently back in the studio working on a new record. Stay tuned!
