Listen. Listen closely. Beneath the beautifully tender and honest love song unfolding into your brain is the voice of Megan Washington. It’s not the prettiest nor the best voice in the world but there is a way it slightly lisps it’s “s”s that is just perfect. The perfection doesn’t stop there, preferring instead to tweak the song so that it grows on you even more with each listen until you can listen to it 5 times in a row and feel it just as strong each time. Plus, I just like the part where she sings “I know” 14 (I counted) times before finally ending with “I’m right.” Because she is.
“How To Tame Lions” came out 2 years ago in Washington’s native Australia but its gaining fresh steam elsewhere these days. Her debut LP I Believe You Liar came out in October in the US and UK but has been out for over a year in Australia where it has already spawned SIX singles. Somehow not surprising. I’m buying it now. [via The Recommender]
