There is something very loveably ramshackle about the way this hazy little jam drifts about on it’s effortlessly bouncy rhythm. That wavy synth and those plucky guitars swirl me right up into the beautiful fuzz. Wild Nothing is the solo project of Virginian Jack Tatum whose debut album, Gemini, has been getting creamedover lately. Some cursory MySPace listening has proved that the guy definitely knows his way around a lo-fi gauze-pop jam but nothing has grabbed me nearly as much as “Chinatown.” I imagine this will be the perfect soundtrack to those disappointingly cloudy summer days.
