Why: Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Grobler has a rich history with both music and travel that you can hear spilling through his songs as St. Lucia. Lush, emotional, and tightly produced, St Lucia songs are love songs for summer sunsets and sunshine romance. It’s impossible not to get swept up in the momentum of an 80s inspired chant-along like “We Got It Wrong.” The whole EP is packed with these infectious moments that keep me coming back to this EP over and over this summer. While I was first turned on to St. Lucia by Viceroy’s “Closer Than This” remix, I’m realizing that he has some pretty stellar source material to work with.

Glad to see them getting some love here. They’re fantastic and if you get the chance to see them live, make sure you do. They put on a great show and always seem to have an absolute blast. At their recent show in DC, they debuted some new tracks and they’re sounding just as good as those on the LP. Can’t wait to see what they have in store, seems like it’s just a matter of time before they blow up.
I’ve been listening to these guys for the past 6 months. So flipp’n good and not getting enough attention! happy you posted this.
They are great!
We Got it Wrong is absolutely epic. Thank you for sharing!
