♫ KAMP! – Heats

You readers may not know this but I run this blog from Poland where I have been living for the past 2.5 years and plan on staying for the foreseeable future. My father is Polish and lives here as well as 2/3 of my siblings. I’m learning the language, studying the culture, and generally stoked on the country. Except there is one problem, I can’t find any Polish music/bands that I am stoked on. Over 600 posts on TBE and not one has featured a Polish band, and that’s certainly not for lack of searching. Well, as is usual in life, the best things come when you aren’t looking for them and that is exactly how I found KAMP! The Łodz based trio dropped me an email a while back announcing the release of their “Heats” single and to my pleasant surprise I soon found myself listening to some pretty great jams! I’ve been struggling to decide which track to put up here but eventually decided on both because each one speaks to a different vibe and together they showcase the range of this young Polish group that I hope will put Poland on the international musical map a bit (or at least convince some of my friends to come visit…. ). This spacey, dancey, funky, electro magic is the perfect shimmering soundtrack to these warmer summer evenings. It’s just too bad that these guys didn’t play at Open’er! Crank it up and let me know what you think!

Bruno Schulz is actually so-so imo, there's a lot of bands in PL sounding like that nowadays.

I don’t know about Polish music, but I went to Poland last summer (I live in Belgium, so it isn’t that far away) and I had one of the best club nights of my life in Krakow (in club Lubudubu) + Krakow is a beautiful city to visit. So thumbs up for that, Poland!
