Remix Roundup Vol. 28 – 10.11.10 [Miike Snow, Tokyo Police Club, RAC, Naked & Famous, …]

Because sometimes Monday is a good day for a fresh batch of remixes. And because sometimes you know Joel and Scott are right around the corner with their set of bangers and you gotta act fast. And because sometimes I just love you all and want to spread the sonic goodness.

For more jams or by any of these artists use the ‘tags’ links at the bottom of the post!  Follow @JoelAlbers on Twitter for updates on remixes, dubstep and all things Nurdy.

♫ The Dance Party – Sasha Don’t Sleep (Pance Party Remix) / I can’t guarantee that listening to this song will make you as hyped as this crowd but it certainly couldn’t hurt. I love that one of 2009’s best jams is getting more love!

♫ Something a la Mode – 5 AM ft K. Flay (Pance Party Remix) / Did someone say Pance Party? Yeah, I DID! These guys rock the wheels right off on this jam. Something a la Mode are some crazy classical-electro outfit that wisely brought K. Flay on for some flavor and now Pance Party have dutifully set the whole thing ablaze! MMmmmmmm!

♫ Miike Snow – Silvia (Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South Remix) / Did somebody say Miike Snow? Oh, yeah, that was me again. If you are new to TBE then you are going to want to orient yourself with my boner for Miike Snow ASAP. My brother already knows whats up and thats why he sent this one down the pipeline. Thanks Bro!

♫ Naked & Famous – Young Blood (The Sound of Arrows Remix) / These they are from New Zealand, the singer is a chick, and they are getting mad remix love lately. I’m down. Still digesting the album though…

♫ Tokyo Police Club – Boots of Danger (Boys Like Us Remix) / Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij remixes as Boys Like Us and has given this TPC standout a chilled out marching band vibe that fits in a nice way.

♫ Anamanaguchi – Airbrushed (RAC Remix) / RAC does the damn thing by throwing a nice brass vibe on this instrumental 8-bit roller coaster.

♫ Kele – Everything You Wanted (RAC Remix) / I never did catch the whole Kele album but I can guarantee it wasn’t as smooth as this RAC reworking. If RAC remixes Miike Snow I might just implode.

♫ Maximum Balloon – Groove Me (feat. Theophilus London) (Jneiro Jarel Remix) / Unfortunately I can’t really get into Maximum Balloon’s album but with remixes like this he’ll still be getting some love on the ol Last.fm! Still waiting for some more proper Theo tracks!

♫ The Gay Blades – Try To Understand (Dmerit Remix) / The Gay Blades live show will always be unparalleled but their albums take some growing. While their latest ripens in my ears I am down to get a bit bongo-drum funky with this remix of their horned-out hit single.

♫ Hey Champ – Cold Dust Girl Remix (Gemini Club Remix) / Hey Champ’s debut LP dropped earlier this summer and while I can’t really get down with it I can definitely feel this remix. It’s all mid-tempo funk for a while and then the 4:15 mark hts and shit goes bananas. Novices off the dance floor!

♫ Eminem – Lose Yourself (Don Diablo Remix) / Don Diablo has clearly been bored cause e’s gone back to remixing old tracks but any excuse to hear “it’s no Mekhi Phipher” is good for me!

♫ Telephoned – O.N.E. (Yeasayer x Gyptian cover) / I like this. It’s short, sweet, and it speaks to the delicate stylings of Telephoned as well as the timelessness of Yeasayer’s original material.

♫ The Hood Internet – Cards And Quarters And Green Lights (Local Natives vs John Legend & Andre 3000) / The Hood Internet may whip out some left-field misses but it’s regularly inspired pairings like this that make them the best for my money. Gan we get all these artists on some collaboration album, please?

♫ The Hood Internet – Shutterbugg In Miami (Big Boi vs Foals) / Did someone say inspired pairings!?

Damn good list. I know you love the Gay Blades, but I have to admit that i had not heard any of their stuff until you posted them the other day. That being said, the Dmerit Remix on here is rad.

I highly recommend finding the very early TBE post on them with some jams from their first album. They are high on my list for a NYC TBE showcase.
